Regular at this track and has two wins over C&D to his name. Beaten in two sellers here this season and not in same form as last campaign but he can never be completely ruled out at this venue.
Only success in 27 attempts came over C&D last July off 1lb lower mark. Well held all starts so far this term and will do well to bounce back and figure here.
Only beaten a length in Beverley 5f handicap last time but remains a maiden and has never given impression he truly stays this extra furlong. Others make rather more appeal.
13-time winner who has been a fine servant to connections with most successes coming on AW Last turf win came two years ago at Pontefract off 9lb higher mark. Undeniably well in on best form but has been struggling a little of late.
Shamardal gelding who has raced just four times but shown little in the way of worthwhile form over a variety of distances. Worth a try down in trip on handicap debut but has a lot to prove.
Has won at up to a mile and scored here penultimate start over 7f off 2lb lower mark. Failed by only a neck to follow up at Ayr last time and entitled to go well for yard in fine form at present.
Landed first career win at Redcar over 6f in May off 3lb lower mark but hasn't shone in last two starts when well beaten at Thirsk and Doncaster and needs to bounce back.
Twice a C&D winner, most recently last October off 13lb higher mark. In-and-out form so far this campaign but has a chance if able to put his best foot forward at a track that suits.
Won over C&D on just second ever run back in October last year. Hasn't found life easy this season though and despite total 19lb drop in weights has failed to be competitive in last five starts. Hard to fancy.
Only win in 25 starts came in 2016 over 5f when trained by James Given. Ran OK when fourth in C&D seller here last time having fallen a long way in the ratings. Much more needed but not completely out of contention.
Very modest 11-race maiden who has shown very little form of note in four starts since joining current yard in April from Harry Chisman. Would be a shock winner.
Third at 150/1 in Beverley 7f novice event last season but form has deteriorated since that run. Showed a spark of ability last time at Ripon and first-time cheekpieces now applied, but others make much more appeal.
Forecasts
Macs Blessings (9/4), Extrasolar (5/1), Mr Greenlight (6/1), Ascot Dreamer (9/1), Vallarta (10/1), Super Florence (12/1), Mightaswellsmile (16/1), Lexington Palm (16/1), Crosse Fire (16/1), The Retriever (25/1), Itsupforgrabsnow (25/1), Supreme Dream (28/1)
MACS BLESSINGS is one of the few in this race arriving in decent form. He won over 7f recently but should handle the drop back in trip and his yard is going through a purple patch at present. Vallarta likes it here and is nicely in if he fancies the job, while Cross Fire hasn't won on turf for a while but is another who has been given a chance by the handicapper. Veteran Extrasolar also likes this sharp six furlongs, and should be there or thereabouts despite top weight.
- Macs Blessings
- Vallarta
- Crosse Fire
