Seven-time AW winner but has a miserable 0-32 record on turf. Has run creditably though of late but has had plenty of chances in the past and it will be a surprise if he can land the spoils on this surface.
Veteran on a long losing run but failed by only a length in a C&D seller earlier this season. Eased 2lb following fair third at Carlisle last time and a bold display is not out of the question off this mark.
Been racing mainly over 7f and a mile this season and missed out by just a short-head in maiden handicap at Carlisle penultimate start. Back in trip now but has yet to score in 17 starts.
Won this race 12 months ago of 8lb lower mark for Ronald Thompson and won again at the tarck over 7f later that term. Things didn't go his way here last time but fairly weighted if able to recover his form.
Last turf success came over C&D in October off this mark and ran well enough when fourth here in June. Has won three here at this trip and with yard in fair form holds solid each-way claims.
On losing run of 19 since win at Redcar last August has won here over 7f in past but equally effective at this trip. Well beaten in seller here last time though.
Jockey booking catches the eye for maiden gelding who has failed to stay a mile last two starts. Has bits and pieces of form that give him a squeak and has fallen to workable mark. Worth a market check.
Won 6f Wolverhampton AW handicap last July but far less effective on turf and has yet tor each a place in six starts. Beaten a long way last two outings and is very hard to fancy.
Only two wins have both come on AW but ran quite well on turf last time when third at Nottingham at the weekend off this mark. Needs to find more but has a squeak if finding a little improvement.

Forecasts
Spirit Of Zebedee (3/1), Chickenfortea (7/2), Billyoakes (7/2), Fard (6/1), Steelriver (13/2), B Fifty Two (15/2), Joey Boy (15/2), Champagne Mondays (8/1), Someone Exciting (14/1), Dragons Will Rise (14/1), Ingleby Molly (33/1), Nifty Niece (50/1)
This is a well contested low-grade sprint handicap with a host of possible winners. The assessor has given a chance to BILLYOAKES who is 10lb lower than his last turf start and may step up to take advantage if things go his way. Last year's winner Chickenfortea has been running better than his figures suggest and may not be far away in a repeat bid, while Spirit of Zebedee goes very well here and is expected to again be on the premises. Others to consider include Champagne Mondays and Fard, who should appreciate the drop back in trip.
- Billyoakes
- Spirit Of Zebedee
- Chickenfortea
