First time in handicap having finished decent fourth in valuable York seller last time. Has stayed on last two starts over 6f so the extra furlong is certainly worth a try.
Placed in each of his last three starts and ran well on handicap bow at Chester latest when second over this trip. Fair chance if able to sit a little closer to pace this time.
Popped up at 14/1 on handicap bow at Pontefract penultimate start and again ran well when third off 6lb higher at Nottingham last time. Tries 7f for the first time and raised further 2lb but should be there or thereabouts.
Yard enjoying another good season and this filly showed promise on each of her first three starts before disappointing when only 4th of seven in Ripon novice last time. Upped in trip and has a bit to prove off this mark.
Went close in 5f novice auction and a claimer for Jamie Osborne before joining current in-form yard. Two respectable efforts at 6f and possible she may improve for the longer trip this time.
Long way behind Sparkling Breeze in York seller last month before landing 7f Redcar seller last time. Gelded since and yard has 16% strike rate with juveniles at this track. Definitely worth a second glance.
Drops in class after showing steady if unspectacular progress in three races to date. Seemed to stay extended 7f at Beverley last time so no surprise if she figures for last year's winning rider.
Three runs to date hint that he might be better suited by this longer trip on handicap bow. Possibly found soft ground against him at Carlisle latest.
Gelded after showing on a modicum of ability in three starts to date in better company. Drops in class and represents fine yard so well worth checking for any market interest.
Stable companion of Knight Cap. Hinted at a little ability on first three starts then kept on one pace her over 6f last time on nursery debut. Worth a try over the extra furlong.
Well beaten in sellers at both York and Redcar last month. Has been gelded and encounters quicker ground than last two starts but more needed to score on handicap bow.
Has cut little ice so far in four starts, including when eighth on handicap bow at Pontefract last time over 6f. Tries the extra furlong but more needed to trouble the judge.
Step up in trip may help having looked one paced on nursery debut over 6f at Pontefract last time. Eased 2lb for yard having a fairly quiet time of things at present.
1lb out of the handicap having down little to set the pulse racing in four outings so far. Hard to see her figuring on evidence to dte.
Forecasts
Ambyfaeirvine (3/1), What A Business (7/2), Breguet Man (9/2), Percy Green (12/1), Stormy Bay (12/1), Rain Cap (14/1), Rusalka (16/1), Never Said Nothing (18/1), Sparkling Breeze (20/1), Lady Erimus (20/1), Knightcap (25/1), The Trendy Man (33/1), Pearlwood (33/1), Bankawi (40/1)
Top weight SPARKLING BREEZE has as good a chance as any in a typically trappy nursery handicap. Fourth in a valuable seller at York last time, his rider's 5lb claim helps the cause and he should go well. Rain Cap, who also ran in the York race, has won in this grade since and his yard does well here so he looks a danger. Ambyfaeirvine has performed with credit on his last two starts and the extra furlong should be within range, while Lady Erimus, What A Business, and Breguet Man look best of the rest.
- Sparkling Breeze
- Rain Cap
- What A Business
