Front runner who ran her best race when splitting a pair of Irish sprinters at the track 2 starts ago in a 0-60 and this a weaker contest.

Three career wins but none since 2017 and generally below par of late with eye shield and blinkers having been tried with little effect.

Won a minor contest at Newcastle in the winter but yet to hit the frame in 11 goes on turf and others preferred.

2018 was generally a wash out for this veteran but has shown a return to something like his old form on a couple of occasions this season though last run was a disappointment.

Back to form at Ayr yesterday with a creditable fourth in a stronger sprint handicap though that was over 6f and her best form seems to be at that trip.

Turf form is poor and beaten in a seller at Thirsk on latest following a break so not difficult to look elsewhere.

Regular visitor and won twice at this venue in 2016 and though she generally runs her race, has bit to find with some of these at the weights.

War Ensign3
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby
5/4
Has spent a lot of time running over much further but dropped to sprinting for last 2 runs have been much more encouraging, and his third in a 0-70 sprint at Ripon on Saturday reads well in the context of this race.

Finished off last season on a low but a couple of efforts in midsummer offered something to work on and now starts off this campaign for a new stable.

Age: 9|  Weight: 9-4| J: Sean Davis(3)| T: J F Levins| D
7/1
Just 1-28 on turf but runs in much stronger company than this and Irish challenger ran well on sole attempt at this minimum trip earlier in the season. Commands plenty of respect in this lowly grade.

9/1
First form when dropped to 5f for the first time when springing a 25/1 shock here recently. More to come at this trip and this represents a drop in class.

Both his wins have been gained at Southwell and turf form is very poor to date so needs to eke out improvement on this surface.

Lets Go Flo3
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: D Tudhope| T: B Ellison
7/1
Modest form to date but lightly raced and handicap debut on Saturday was in a far stronger contest so capable of better and jockey booking takes the eye so not ruled out.

Forecasts

War Ensign (5/4), Your Pal Tal (7/1), Lets Go Flo (7/1), Angel Eyes (8/1), Alisia R (9/1), Jessie Allan (16/1), I'll Be Good (20/1), Gunnabedun (20/1), Poppy Jag (20/1), Camanche Grey (25/1), Sir Walter (25/1), Thornaby Princess (25/1), Your Just Desserts (50/1), Encoded (50/1)

Verdict

From a stable that do well when bringing horses over YOUR PAL TAL is normally seen in stronger races than this and with the drop down to 5f not a problem is fancied to get the better of War Ensign who is clearly better as a sprinter. Alisia R showed progress to get off the mark over C&D recently and completes the short list.
  1. Your Pal Tal
  2. War Ensign
  3. Alisia R
