Ran well over C&D in April and is respected from just 1lb higher. Needs to better his last three starts though. Last two starts were particularly poor efforts.

Dancing Warrior87

Placed in a Listed race in France on her last start as a juvenile and also fared reasonably well on her return at Sandown in April. Still open to improvement and highly respected in only her second run in a handicap.

Moonraker7
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-5| J: Alistair Rawlinson| T: M Appleby| OR:  82| D

Won twice on the AW at the start of this year and ran with more vigour over C&D last time. Not the most consistent individual but can be a force at this level when he strides out with purpose. Now 6lb below his last AW winning mark.

Won over this trip at Newmarket in May but intermittent form since. Went close over C&D last time, however, and would have leading claims if running to the same level again. Dropped 1lb but needs to prove cut in the ground suits.

A toughened campaigner who has run well the last twice; the drop in grade will suit and has won from higher marks on the AW. Dangerous to underestimate.

Set to race from 4lb above his last winning mark on the AW and he's 0-16 on turf, so sufficient doubts about the current handicap mark and surface suitability force the eye to look elsewhere for a more likely winner.

Solid claims on the pick of his form and merits a betting check as he runs from 10lb below his last winning mark. Never yet won with the word soft in the ground description and wouldn't want any more rain to get into the ground.

On a reasosonably attractive mark and ought to handle the predicted ground conditions. Positive jockey booking captures the imagination and a forceful ride may see the gelding make the frame at least.

Age: 10|  Weight: 8-7| J: K T O'Neill| T: J J Bridger| OR:  70| D

On a very attractive mark but is on a long losing run and hard know whether he still has the willingness to exploit the lenient rating. Recent efforts suggest his 18-race losing streak is set to continue.

Forecasts

Our Oystercatcher (9/4), Daschas (4/1), Dancing Warrior (6/1), Moonraker (13/2), Leo Minor (7/1), Shamshon (8/1), Pettochside (14/1), The Daley Express (16/1), Joegogo (33/1)

Verdict

There is still scope for DANCING WARRIOR to make a bit more progress and the filly is suggested as the most appealing option in a tricky little race. She's unexposed in terms of handicaps and notably handled cut in the ground when placed in a Listed race in France last October. Shamshon has hinted at a return to form and also merits serious consideration, while Our Oystercatcher seems to need his mind making up for him and has the right man in the saddle to bring the best out of him. Leo Minor is also worth a betting check so long as the ground doesn't deteriorate by this time.
  1. Dancing Warrior

  3. Our Oystercatcher
