Remains on his last winning mark and continues to hold his form admirably well; beaten 2¾L when third of 14 to Cape Cyclone at Leicester (1m+, good to firm) 15 days ago.
Has failed to sparkle so far in 2019, slipping down the weights another couple of pounds since finishing down the field at Thirsk (7f) latest; definite stamina doubts over this trip.
Justified favouritism (5-1) when beating Graceful Act by ¾L in this contest in 2017 (when with Wilf Storey); off the track since October 2018 and that's an obvious concern; first start for Michael Herrington.
Lightly raced; finished sixth of nine to Northern Lyte on handicap debut (fillies') over 1m2f at Beverley (good to firm) 15 days ago; 1lb lower.
15-race maiden; runner up on each of his last two starts (beaten a neck latest); his previous 3¼L second to Langholm (1m2f, Beverley) was given a timely boost when that winner followed up on the Westwood earlier this week.
Met trouble in running when a closing second to Neileta at Ayr (1m2f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; the first-time hood clearly helped on that occasion; low-mileage for a very shrewd yard with Luke Morris an eye-catching jockey booking.
A recent hurdles scorer at Tipperary and Wexford (both 2m, good), this lowly rated Flat maiden (0-10) will be a first ever Redcar runner for the County Kildare handler Katy Brown; merits plenty of respect.
Locally trained veteran who has rediscovered some positive form in recent weeks (third at Carlisle). However, is without a win since July 2017 and on that basis should find at least a couple stronger.
22-race turf maiden; is most effective between 7f and 1m on Tapeta at Newcastle; will almost certainly win more races when returning to Gosforth Park next winter; not today.
Six-race maiden who has shown only very moderate form to date; is safely overlooked.
Forecasts
Greengage (9/4), One To Go (3/1), Straight Ash (13/2), Effernock Fizz (8/1), Mr Sundowner (8/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (14/1), Canoodling (16/1), Graceful Act (20/1), Hitman (25/1), Happy Hannah (25/1)
Potentially the stronger of the two divisions of this 1m1f Class 6 handicap with the dual Irish hurdles scorer Effernock Fizz a notable first ever Redcar runner for the County Kildare handler Katy Brown. Her form on the Flat is moderate but she's very lowly rated as a result and could be thrown in if translating that improvement over hurdles back to the level. However, with both One To Go and Straight Ash acknowledged as consistent horses deserving a positive mention the preferred option is the Tristan Davidson-trained GREENGAGE. She was an unlucky loser in a first-time hood at Ayr and with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle is capable of making amends.
