Winning sequence came to an end when 3L fourth in 7f Leicester handicap at the start of the month. Off the same mark and this looks a less competitive contest than what he raced in last time. Stable's first choice and is shortlisted.
Best form has come over sprinting trips and has been out of sorts this season for Robert Cowell. Most recent ninth in 5f Redcar handicap leaves a bit to be desired and probably best watched on stable debut.
New tactics seemed to do the trick when an unchallenged winner of 7f Salisbury handicap (soft) in mid-June. Has 8lb rise to contend with but will be dangerous if getting a soft lead.
Has been found wanting in three starts since landing 7f Doncaster handicap, but ran with credit to finish 2L fourth in 7f York handicap on latest start. Dropped 1lb for that effort and could be on a workable mark. Leading claims.
Winner at Doncaster three starts ago but flopped back at that venue when 10th in 1m2f handicap in April. Not seen since and this trip looks to be on the sharp side.
Promising early season form has curtailed recently, including when 4l sixth in 7f Leicester handicap at the start of the month. Place claims on best form but looks to be in the hilt of the handicapper.
Consistent sort who has never been out of the top three. Gelding operation seemed to do the trick when defying trouble in running to win by 2L in 7f Chelmsford maiden. Has his quirks but of interest on handicap debut.
