Winner here over 7f last season, and ran just as well in defeat the time after. Has returned in good form this season, twice runner up and showing he stays a mile well when just touched off at Doncaster. Consistent sort will be thereabouts again.

Given a great ride by Joanna Mason to win at Sandown last time, a race the combination had won the year before. Back to form now although a 6lb rise for that win demands more. Looks a threat all the same.

Back to form on third start for this yard when second over this trip at Redcar last time out, although the cheekpieces that were on there are missing this time. Unexposed though, and may well have more to offer, so not easily dismissed.

Twice a winner on the all-weather, but yet to score in five starts on turf and she only made belated progress at Windsor last time, never threatening. Might be the handicapper has her where he wants her at present, and as such, needs more.

Very easy winner at Kempton last week, and was well backed to do so (went off favourite). Penalty to carry for that less of a worry than the rise in grade, which means he needs a bit more, but in good heart and clearly can't be ruled out.

Back to form on last couple of starts, both at Yarmouth, winning one and finishing a close second in the other (both over 1m). However, races from 3lb out of the handicap here and wins tend to come in a lesser grade, so has plenty to do.

Forecasts

Lucky Louie (15/8), Fortune And Glory (7/2), Biotic (9/2), First Response (5/1), Sir Jamie (8/1), Delicate Kiss (10/1), He's Our Star (10/1), Bombastic (14/1)

Verdict

No definite pace on here and it could be a slow-run affair, which doesn't make picking the winner any easier. Lucky Louie is as reliable as they come and will give it his best shot again, and Fortune And Glory comes here after a very easy win at Kempton, one which, if he can repeat it, gives him a great chance. HE'S OUR STAR might be the one to be with, given his good course record and he might not mind if this is run at a crawl, as he has the speed to win over shorter. Biotic picked them off one by one at Sandown but might not get this run to suit.
  1. He's Our Star
  2. Lucky Louie
  3. Fortune And Glory
