Seemed to have totally lost his way this year but definite step in the right direction when showing good speed from a wide draw at Beverley last time. That offers something to build on and one for the short list.
Beaten a head on belated AW debut last month. Dual winner at around this time last year and should be at peak power now so has to be respected.
In good heart in the spring making all at Musselburgh following good second at Pontefract, but has lost his way since then and plenty to prove now with headgear left off.
Front-runner who has found 7f too far last two runs but will welcome the drop down in trip and well drawn next to the stands rail if that proves the place to be.
Loves it here with six wins to his name and as many placed efforts from 23 runs. Has shown on a few occasions this season that another win isn't far away and will give it a good go from the front.
A couple of placed efforts on the AW but turf form to date is poor and although leading apprentice booked, not hard to look elsewhere.
Two course wins during his long career and now a stone below his last winning mark a year ago, but generally struggling to find his form this season and others preferred.
Ayr effort last week was in line with most others on turf in that while not beaten far, it didn't have the look of a winner waiting to happen and suspicion remains she is better on AW.
Last win was here two years ago but hasn't looked like adding to that and on the 49th run of his career an eye shield is added to try and work the oracle.
Yet to make the frame in 28 starts so impossible to make a solid case for from 4lb out of the weights.
Last of his four career wins was here in 2015 but totally out of sorts for a while and it would be a major shock if was to figure here.
Has beaten just a pair of rivals in three careers runs and although lightly raced and making handicap debut now is readily passed over.

Super Julius (4/1), Arnold (9/2), Jacob's Pillow (5/1), Astrophysics (5/1), Super Florence (15/2), Popping Corks (8/1), Classic Pursuit (17/2), Camanche Grey (9/1), Bronze Beau (10/1), Gleaming Arch (25/1), Trulove (66/1), Jordan's Chris (66/1), Ya Boy Sir (80/1)
CLASSIC PURSUIT looked to be on the downgrade but his recent fourth at Beverley offered hope and he can take advantage of a rapidly dropping mark. Arnold is consistent at this level and the obvious starting point when searching for dangers while Super Florence could get the run of things from his 13 stall and completes the short list.
- Classic Pursuit
- Arnold
- Super Julius
