Helmet half-brother to five winners over a variety of distances. Yard in good form at present but are 0-12 with juveniles runners at this venue. May be better for the outing.

11,000 guineas gelding by Havana Gold out of dam who won at up to 1m4f. Full-brother won at up to 2m so may find this trip a bare minimum. Hooded for racecourse debut.
Well related Lord Of England colt who showed ability on debut at Beverley over extended 7f, leading 3 out before hanging across the track, eventually finishing third. Should have learned plenty and top yard continues in fine form.

20,000 US bred colt whose dam won over 6f as a juvenile. Looked backward and was slow away on debut at Chesptow, never able to land a blow. Will have learned plenty but may need more time.

Stable companion of Party Potential returns following gelding operation. Promising third over 5f on debut at Windsor in April before only 6th of 7 over 6f at Nottingham in May. That form has worked out very well though and has decent claims here.
£12,000 Dragon Pulse colt whose dam is half-sister to star South African Group 1 performer. Some promise when 4th of 7 on debut at Chester where stayed on late and will know more this time.

Gelded French Navy half-brother to a winner in Morocco. Doesn't make great appeal on paper but yard ticking over nicely at the moment. Wears cheekpieces for his racecourse debut.
€32,000 Gregorian colt out of dam who won at 7f and a mile. Yard in fair form at present has healthy 18% strike rate with juveniles at this track so worthy of some consideration.
Colt by Finjaan out of winning juvenile miler. Looked green and dwelt at start on debut at Pontefract in April over 5f. Given a break and tried over new trip here. May still need the experience.
€10,000 Pour Moi filly who is half-sister to a winner at up to 1m4f. Bred for middle distances and likely to be better for the run. Yard having a quiet time of things at present.
Cityscape filly who is half-sister to four winners. Yard going through winnerless spell but most horses running well in defeat. Stable has 20% 2yo strike rate at this track so very much respected and may go well.

Cheaply bought Havana Gold filly who was not disgraced when last of four on debut at Yarmouth in June on soft ground, then did better when third on quicker surface at Doncaster last time. Going the right way and not out of it.

Forecasts

Lord Of The Alps (3/1), Escape Proof (3/1), Port Winston (9/2), Lady Red Moon (5/1), Hariboux (14/1), Precision Storm (14/1), Charles Street (20/1), Ten Chants (25/1), Early Morning Mist (28/1), Sophar Sogood (50/1), Party Potential (66/1), The Mystery Wizard (80/1)

Verdict

The race in which PORT WINSTON finished sixth at Nottingham in May has worked out particularly well, so what appeared disappointing at the time was actually a decent effort. He should go well on his first start since being gelded. Lord Of The Alps has the best form in the book and is entitled to come on for his solid debut third at Beverely. With his yard continuing its hot streak he rates a dager. Newcomers Escape Proof, Ten Chants, and Charles Street have possibilities, while Lady Red Moon and Precision Storm are potential improvers.
  1. Port Winston
  2. Lord Of The Alps
  3. Escape Proof
