Improved from debut when 3¾L sixth of 15 to Rebel Tale in a 6f maiden at Navan last time. Gives the impression he will keep improving with experience, but facing a stiff task here.

Has run to a similar level on all three starts, and beaten just over 1L when front-running fourth of 14 to Crossfirehurricane in a 7f maiden at Limerick last time. Beginning to look exposed, but he may benefit from a drop back to 6f.

By Red Clubs out of a poor maiden half-sister to Irish Grand National-placed Band of Blood. Didn't show much on Curragh debut, and looks one for much further down the line.

Has shown plenty to work on in three starts, his best effort when third to subsequent Group 2 winner Royal Lytham at Navan last time. Unwise to take that form literally, but he holds solid place claims on that showing.
First foal of an unraced mare, and while his yard is flying at present, it would be something of a surprise to see this Dragon Pulse gelding win at the first time of asking.

By Night of Thunder, and the first foal of a 2-y-o 7f winner. In need of experience when sixth of 8 at Tipperary on April debut, and likely to need more time on that evidence.

Has run to a solid level on all four starts, and ran with great credit when second of 17 to A New Dawn in a 6f maiden at Naas last time, worn down close home after disputing the lead. Sets the bar high.

Toronado half-sister to several useful sorts, including Lingfield Derby Trial winner Kilimanjaro. Noted doing late work on 1m debut at Bellewstown, and sure to improve, but probably not at this trip.

Es Que Love filly who was unfancied and well beaten on debut at Naas recently, and is more of a long-term project on that initial showing.

Forecasts

In The Present (9/10), Prince Of Naples (7/2), Erlking (4/1), Moondrop (12/1), Cobb And Co (14/1), Think Big (25/1), The Hard Harry (33/1), Pink Jazz (50/1), Natahoolababy (66/1)

Verdict

IN THE PRESENT was only just touched off at Naas last time, and has a very solid look to her in this line-up, so is taken to make it fifth-time lucky. Erlking is the main danger on form, and could benefit from the return to 6f after being worn down late at Limerick last time. Prince of Naples is also going the right way, and is the other to consider, for all a close third to Royal Lytham last time is a little flattering.
  1. In The Present
  2. Erlking
  3. Prince Of Naples
