Only run once since autumn of 2016, when well-held in AW handicap at Newcastle for David O'Meara. Makes debut for new trainer after latest layoff and handicapper isn't taking any risks.
Reliable yardstick with 2-6 record already this year, including last time out at Navan (5f, good; 9-2). Won that nicely and only gone up a pound, stays this trip and should go well again.
Mare won last month over 5f at Tipperary and has run well again at Naas in one of three starts since. Can't be ruled out with any certainty.
Curragh maiden winner last summer over 5f, has struggled in two handicaps this year on AW at Dundalk (6f) and turf at the Curragh (5f). Handicapper does offer some relief here.
Mostly consistent efforts this term, landing a 7f Gowran Park handicap in May on quick ground and typically running well before and since; though last week's Limerick run was a disappointing effort.
Dandy Man filly won a C&D maiden in May 2018 and shaped with some promise afterwards in handicaps. Cheekpieces tried on first run for new handler back from a layoff and potentially on a workable mark, watch betting.
Filly won a Dundalk maiden over this trip in November. She's back from a break here could be lurking on a manageable mark, so any money will be noted in what isn't a deep race.
All wins so far have come on AW, including at Dundalk in March over 5f. Mostly well held since on turf, though has twice made the frame at Down Royal over 5½f. She must improve to score.
Forecasts
Aleef (5/4), Fit For Function (5/2), Dash D'Or (5/1), That's Not Me (10/1), Ty Rock Brandy (12/1), Mid Winster (20/1), Elegant Drama (20/1), Ustinov (25/1)
Leading claims are held by Dash D'Or and ALEEF, with preference for the latter after a snug success at Navan last week. This longer trip holds no fear and a 1lb rise makes things very manageable. Conor Hoban's mount ran well over this trip on the same card and should do so again. Any money arriving for either of Elegant Drama and That's Not Me could be worth paying attention to.
- Aleef
- Dash D'Or
- Elegant Drama
