Runner-up on her last two starts. Only beaten a half-length at Pontefract (6f; good) most recently. Won over this C&D on two occasions in the past, and is still 2lb below last winning mark. One of the leading players.

Out of sorts and despite being successful over C&D in May last year, he would need to show marked improvement upon his latest efforts. 3lb below latest winning mark and steps back up to 6f again.

Gone well over this C&D the last twice but previous two efforts have been particularly uninspiring. Was runner-up off just 1lb higher in May, so is capable, but does have a fair bit to prove.

Posted a trio of very respectable runs in maidens/novices, and now enters the handicap sphere off a fair mark. Could well be up to making a successful switch to this company, so monitor the betting which could be informative.

Still fairly lightly raced after just the nine starts, and he went particularly close to scoring for the first time in a while when a close-up fourth over C&D two starts ago. Not so good at Haydock (6f; good to firm) last time but must be respected.

Lesser effort last time when a below-par ninth of 17 at Carlisle (6f; good to soft). Well-fancied then and rightly so, given the form he has been in since February. Not dismissed though and could easily bounce back.

Makes debut in handicaps after a trio of fairly low-key runs in maidens. Should find life in this sphere much more to his liking, and although he must step up on previous efforts, he is likely to leave previous form behind.

Not gone on since scoring at Redcar (6f; soft) in October 2018. Not completely disgraced the last twice when finishing in midfield at both Thirsk and Ayr, but needs to do a lot more if he is to feature.

Justified market favouritism when sent off the 5-2jf at Ripon (6f; good to soft) recently. Only 3lb higher for that success and likely to be competitive once more as he bids to follow up that victory. Player.

Second representative in this race for the yard. Modest effort of late when 16th of 18 at Thirsk (6f; good to firm), but in fairly decent form prior to that below-par effort so not one to totally rule out.

Verdict

Another sprint handicap in which the largely consistent/dual C&D winner Inexes is likely to figure once more after going agonisingly close at Pontefract last month. However, the unexposed profiles of the two handicap debutantes in the form of both DIAMOND SHOWER and Twentysixthstreet make most appeal in this race. The former is preferred given the more convincing runs he posted in maidens/novice company, but that is not to say that the latter will not step up by some way upon her low-key efforts in similar company. The Tim Easterby-trained Autumn Flight is also worth a mention given how well he ran over C&D two starts ago when a very narrow loser in fourth.
  1. Diamond Shower
  2. Inexes
  3. Twentysixthstreet
