Course winner over a mile runs here under a penalty which puts him on a par with his revised mark for that performance. Less exposed than most in this and one of the few who are proven to be effective on turf.

Runner-up over C&D last month but remains 0-7 on turf and current form shows she has little in hand of her current mark.

Took her record to 2-4 on turf when scoring here over 6f on soft ground three weeks ago. Worth another try at this trip on a course that clearly suits and she has also won on a firm surface.

Has been in poor form lately and his best efforts have come on AW surfaces. Has little to recommend him at present.

Five-time AW winner who is 1-22 on turf. Has won on firm and has been placed here previously. Has switched stables and on a workable mark if buoyed by a change of scenery.

Landed a Wolverhampton novice last summer and form has taken a dive since. Has moved to a new yard since finishing third of four in a seller last time and probably best watched for now.

Third at Wolverhampton in March over 1m1f. Has struggled to stay on last three starts and has shown a tendency to hang under pressure.

Has an inconsistent record but his mark is starting to look favourable and he is likely to pop up at a good price one of these days.

Has not shown much but may have found the step up to a mile from 6f beyond her. Worth a go at this intermediate trip but she is hard to recommend all the same.

Looks a challenging project for new trainer judged on her five starts for him. Races off another career low mark but justifiably so.

Answered some questions regarding this trip and ability on turf when third at Brighton. Has little more to do here and is one to consider in a weak race.

Looked reluctant to race here on yard debut and his Irish form building up to that was dire. Probably one to avoid for now.

Forecasts

Magical Ride (8/13), Salmon Fishing (8/1), Napping (8/1), Shaleela's Dream (12/1), Sonnet Rose (14/1), Global Acclamation (14/1), Agent Of Fortune (16/1), Parisean Artiste (25/1), Penarth Pier (33/1), Laqab (33/1), Caledonia Laird (40/1), Quduraat (40/1), Tom Dooley (50/1)

Verdict

NAPPING is proven on the track and on a fast surface but now needs to prove her effectiveness at this trip. She was certainly showing no signs of stopping in her last two runs over 6f and she is taken to thwart Magical Ride who bids to follow up his impressive course win over the straight mile. Salmon Fishing could be a surprise package, but Global Acclamation has more obvious claims judged on his latest Brighton effort.
