Yet to win on turf, and has kicked about on the Polytrack at Chelmsford (1m2f) of late; made strong late headway for this rider when beaten approximately ¾L by Star Of Southwold there 12 days ago; drops back in trip to 1m.

Regularly at his most productive between June and July, and that proved to be the case when winning three races in quick succession last summer; is a past C&D winner; sits 10lb above his last winning mark (Beverley).

Her C&D form figures read (3,1,1); carries 5lb extra for winning here last Thursday - beat Outside Inside by 2L; is tackling stronger opposition (Class 2) on this occasion and that might just prove her undoing.

Without a win since August 2018 (Thirsk); is easing in the weights and endured a nightmare passage through when finishing an eye-catching eighth of 16 in last week's Carlisle Bell; of interest.

4lb lower than when finishing third of 16 to Hayadh (beaten 1½L) in the Class 2 Thirsk Hunt Cup in May; unspectacular since, never landing a blow behind all the way leader (and winner) Club Wexford at Ayr (1m, good) last week.

Forecasts

Victory Command (15/8), Never Be Enough (4/1), Club Wexford (5/1), Coolagh Forest (6/1), Mikmak (7/1), Brother McGonagall (15/2), Nicholas T (8/1), Nonios (16/1)

Verdict

A very competitive Class 2 handicap for the Watson Memorial Trophy featuring a number of in-form horses. Club Wexford has been kept busy in recent weeks and more than held his own in the historic Carlisle Bell (Mikmak an eye-catcher in behind) last Wednesday. Never Be Enough is a likeable filly who enjoys her visits to Hamilton Park. She takes a step up in grade under a 5lb penalty for her win here last Thursday. The fast improving 3yo Coolagh Forest is another of note despite a hefty weights rise, but a very tentative shout is for the Mark Johnston-trained VICTORY COMMAND who contested the Britannia Stakes (sixth) at Royal Ascot latest.
  1. Victory Command
  2. Club Wexford
  3. Never Be Enough
