Likes the course and wasn't beaten far over this trip here last time; dropped 1lb and no forlorn hope despite carrying top weight. Chances boosted by the booking of a jockey who has coaxed a win out of the filly before.

Well held in both starts for her current yard and yet to convince which is her best trip; more required now and latest efforts haven't inspired much confidence that she can imminently break her maiden status.

0-9 so far and hasn't made much progress since returning from a break; the fitting of cheekpieces needs to inspire a big improvement.

Back on a winning mark and helped out further by being partnered with a 7lb claimer; but the gelding's best previous form is between 1m2f-1m4f, so the drop to a mile has to be a concern.

Held in all three starts since being gelded but is getting some respite from the handicapper. Responded well in the headgear last time out (retained here) and a possible candidate to go well at a fair price. Worth a betting check.

Drops in grade and also on a lenient mark but has been unconvincing so far and has never even made the frame in any of her previous starts. Hard to recommend as one to follow despite the attractions of a handy mark.

Back on a winning mark and not much to fear from the trip; never raced here before and needs the cheekpieces to rev him up a good deal more than he's been showing of late, but could be a player if the headgear revives his interest.

Placed over C& on his penultimate start but reverted to type last time and can leave himself with a lot to do by starting slowly; his style of running isn't for the feint hearted and he comes with risk attached.

On a long losing run and latest start was disappointing as he couldn't build on what was a promising return from a break when he finished fourth in similar company at Bath in May. Hard to recommend again this time.

6lb wrong at the weights and offers very little to tempt a punt given his poor record on turf. Others readily preferred.

Verdict

This course has reviving qualities for horses like KACHUMBA, who seems to need kidding along and likes the quirky nature of the track. The filly wasn't beaten far over C&D latest and could be hard to beat with Dane O'Neill back in the saddle. Precision Prince is on a handy mark and can also play a strong role if he responds kindly to racing in headgear for the first time; running in cheekpieces also seemed to suit Startego in his latest start and he too has to be listed as a threat to the selection. Brother In Arms isn't really one for maximum faith but he has also acted well at this course and cannot be ruled out if he's in the mood today.
