C&D winner on debut (beat another newcomer; third home won next time); knew what was required, stayed on well. Failed to build on that run in very different conditions/trip (heavy/6f) at Chester; capable of better back on the AW at 5f, penalised.
Newcomer (160,000 guineas yearling) by Sir Prancealot, half-brother to 7f winner King Of Hearts and Italian sprint winner Evil Spell; dam useful Italian 6f/7f winner. Yard yet to have a juvenile winner this season (0-8; 0-5 with debutants).

Sales price consistently rose (45,000 guineas Breeze-Up purchase finally); ran with promise on debut at Yarmouth (fourth) fitted with a tongue-tie (form not yet tested). Hood added now, open to progress, yard 2-23 with juveniles this season.

Debutant from a yard that is flying with two-year-olds this year (12-39 first time out) by Exceed And Excel; 110,000 guineas Breeze-Up purchase. Half-brother to 6f AW winner Lysander Belle; dam Group-placed 6f 2yo winner; likely to go well.

Yard has been going well with juveniles this year (7-42) although this one didn't move forward from a promising C&D debut (second to Mrs Bouquet). Below-par at York last time (up in grade), may have found race coming too soon; worth another chance.

Offered something to work on when finishing midfield in the Brocklesby (5f) despite being bred for stiffer tests. Showed more last time at Thirsk (over 5f again); shapes as though an extra furlong won't come amiss; will find one or two too speedy.

5/1
Last on his debut (Hamilton, 6, good/soft) he showed up well enough but looked to need the run. Much improved back at the same venue on his second start (down to 5f); looked as though 6f would suit this time; in good hands, more to come.

Forecasts

Mrs Bouquet (9/4), Hurcle (5/2), Olcan (9/2), Teenar (5/1), Aysar (8/1), Paddy Elliott (16/1), Flowing Magic (16/1)

Verdict

Back on a surface that she made a winning debut on Mrs Bouquet is given a chance to redeem her reputation having flopped in testing conditions last time at Chester over 6f. That first run of her career where she defeated Olcan (below-par last time) reads well enough but the penalty might make her vulnerable with the Archie Watson newcomer HURCLE taken to make a winning debut. He’s bred to be sharp and his yard are no stranger to winning debutants this season, this son of Exceed And Excel may add to those statistics in a positive way. Teenar is improving steadily and can continue his progress; looks the type to note for nurseries soon.
  1. Hurcle
  2. Mrs Bouquet
  3. Teenar
