C&D Group 3 winner here last year and posted his best effort yet when fourth in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot last week. Has to concede weight all round here but a reproduction of that effort could see him go close.

C&D Group 2 winner as a juvenile and twice placed here in Group 1 company. Missed all of last season and didn't show much on his belated return at Naas last month. Given time to recover but has questions to answer at present.

Hasn't won since his debut success for John Gosden back in 2016 in a Kempton maiden. Well beaten when dropped back to this trip in a C&D Group 2 last time out and looks up against it here.

A grand servant who has won a host of Group races in his time including a Group 1 success at Longchamp. Running well in defeat so far this campaign and has four course wins to his name including two Group 2 races; each-way chance.

Has won three races in Argentina over the minimum trip and Group 1 placed in December. Well held in a handicap at Royal Ascot last week and while he may come on for that run, seemingly has a bit to prove in a race of this nature.

Just one win from 14 turf starts and her best efforts have come at 5f. Tough ask here and a big career best needed.

Off the mark at the ninth time of asking in a Tipperary maiden last time. Hard to imagine she's up to this sort of test on the evidence to date.

Won a maiden on debut and has run perfectly well in two runs since. Might need a step back up in trip to be seen to best effect but less miles on the clock than most of these.

Still a maiden after nine starts. Disappointed when favourite for a maiden here last time out and looks a likely outsider in this contest.

Course winner of a maiden on debut. Won a three-runner affair at Fairyhouse two starts back but last of seven when trying to back that up at the same venue last time. Wears first-time cheekpieces, others preferred.

Just a Navan maiden win to her name to date. Wouldn't have appeared to have trained on the evidence of three runs this campaign and seemingly better at 5f.

Verdict

Course and distance winner SPEAK IN COLOURS performed with great credit in Group 1 company just seven days ago at Royal Ascot and provided he doesn't find this race coming too soon, he should prove hard to beat. Gordon Lord Byron may not be the force of old but he's certainly still capable of playing a part at this level and a return to this track will suit. Flash Gordon has a less exposed profile than most and can go well with the 3lb allowance in his favour.
