Raced to a similar level in all three starts and his last run when showing pace over 7f suggests this trip is ideal. On a workable mark on handicap debut and considered a chance.
Failed to build on stable, handicap and UK debut when missing the break over 7f at Yarmouth. Down 4lb but plenty more still needed off this current handicap mark.
Has failed to live up to his 200,000 gns price-tag in five starts and although he would be on a fair mark judged on his first two starts, he's gone backwards since. Drops to a sprint distance for the first time.
Supported favourite on handicap and turf debut at Newbury but ran very poorly. Possible soft ground was against him and not one to give up on yet but drying conditions would likely be needed.
Landed Kempton 7f novice stakes for Sir Michael Stoute on third start last term before joining current handler. Two poor runs of late on turf and despite falling mark is looking regressive.
Left last year's three runs well behind when narrowly beaten at Doncaster on handicap and season debut. Hit the line really strongly that suggested there is plenty more to come off this mark. Rates a leading contender.
Remains a nine-race maiden and form has regressed since early promise. Poor effort on last start for Andrew Balding in claiming company in January and best watched on stable debut following an absence.
Showed some early promise but has lost all form with two very poor runs since entering handicap company. Yet to place and hard to think he will do here.
Blinkers and tongue-tie combination reached for after two weak efforts in handicap company. Drops back in trip and is really hard to make a case for.
Ran to a similar level when comfortably held in first three starts and heavy ground a valid excuse on handicap debut. Down 3lb but he would still need to show a fair bit of improvement to get involved.
Has proved inconsistent in five starts to date and disappointed at Carlisle on soft ground last time. Showed pace at Wetherby that suggested a switch to sprinting could help but hard to be confident in.
Forecasts
Lofty (7/2), Swinging Eddie (7/2), Gunnison (15/2), Jack Randall (8/1), Brawny (9/1), Gold At Midnight (10/1), Invincible One (10/1), Tulloona (11/1), Molly's Game (14/1), Grandstand (18/1), Quanah (25/1)
There was an awful lot to like about the handicap debut of SWINGING EDDIE and there should be improvement to come off the back of it. Lofty is one to note on handicap debut and has proved reliable so far. Tulloona is worth another chance but perhaps drying conditions would see him at his best.
- Swinging Eddie
- Lofty
- Tulloona
