Failed to make much of a show after leaving William Haggas in four runs for this yard looking out of sorts over 1m here last time. Despite the ease into this grade for the first time she still has something to prove on current form.

Had threatened to come good in this grade this year and duly did so with a Chelmsford win off a 7lb lower mark last month (made all). Failed to repeat those tactics (went off too hard) attempting to follow up over same C&D; trip will test him.

Had appeared to excel himself prior to a wind op but failed to back up a rather dubious piece of previous form back on turf last time over 6f. Now blinkered for the first-time he's again tried over1m; form rather uneven, comes with risks attached.

C&D winner; caught the eye last time (first run for a while) when not beaten far by two race-fit rivals over 1m2f (Chelmsford). A while since her last win but has run some decent races in the interim; a repeat last start would makes her hard to beat.

Slipped down below his last winning mark which makes him of interest although his last run was well below-par. Stays a little further than this 1m so a stamina test will be in his favour; market will guide as to his aspirations here.

Very-lightly raced sort who so far looks of little account having shown little on her handicap debut late last year over 7f here. On the evidence so far she's not one to be looking at to take a step forward on her reappearance.

Has knocked at the door without it opening on 39 occasions now (remains a maiden) despite going close a couple of times. So nearly won here last time out over 7f but can't really be relied up to repeat that performance given her past exploits.

Slipped well below his last winning mark and gets another go around a track that suits her having done best of those that raced up with the pace over C&D last time. Twice a course winner he would be one to throw into the mix in a modest heat.

Just the one win from 25 starts but that very much sums up the level of this contest; staged a revival last time (first-time tongue-tie could have helped). Raced off the pace (can be slow away); will need some luck in-running (not out of this).

Handicap newcomer who so far hasn't shown that much and isn't really bred for this trip. Fared poorly when last seen over 7f failing to improve from his debut; handicaps may see him in a better light though especially in this grade.

One of five three-year-olds in this although all bar one have experienced handicap company already. This one returns from a fair break having only shown modest form so far in this sphere; beaten off this mark before.

May well have been flattered by his fourth in a fair-sized field last time out at Salisbury (7f, soft), having raced on the best of the ground. Best effort so far has come over 6f and this 1m trip may just stretch his stamina a little too far.

May well have needed the run on her reappearance/handicap debut after eight months off. Never really involved over 1m at Bath having shown only modest/poor form as a juvenile; stiff task and best watched.

One standout run to her name this year when second over C&D (penultimate start) but that run in context looks a flash in the pan. Failed to show anything like that last time over 7f back here; others appeal far more.

Verdict

This contest gives a few that have been perilously close to either breaking their long-standing maiden tags or ending a long losing run a big chance and runners like Joyful Dream and Song Of Summer have to be considered despite their obvious drawbacks. John Butler runs both Cat Royale and Rock In Society a market move for either would spark some interest. LUXFORD gets the nod overall though with her third to two in-form sorts at Chelmsford last time out easily the best piece of form on offer here. Course form is often worth paying credence to at this quirky track and Hidden Stash likes the air by the seaside having won here twice before once over C&D.
