Has hit a rich vein since wind surgery winning of four of his last five, with the defeat coming in a grade higher. Won on soft ground early in his career and has shown a tremendous attitude of late. 5lb penalty may not be enough to stop him.
Third career win arrived over 6f at Pontefract in August, decisively. Laboured in three further starts having shot up the ratings, is now easing towards workable mark, though may need this. Withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls in April.
Remains on a workable mark, having won off 2lb higher in the past, and handles cut in the ground. Below par in two runs back and considering his strong record fresh, that remains a concern. Stable also runs Lucky Lucky Man.
Twice a winner on heavy ground and back on last winning mark. Has improved nicely with each of three runs this year and a good third on fast ground at Doncaster last month. Should be spot on and remains a live danger in this grade.
Six-time winner but all at 5f and hasn't convince at this distance in the past. Now 2lb below last winning mark but form is only getting worse in four starts this year. Remains one to oppose.
Both wins from six starts have come over this trip on the AW at Newcastle. Beaten favourite there the last twice after winning following an absence of over a year. Handles soft but needs to find more of this current mark.
Dark Angel colt made a winning handicap debut when relishing the heavy ground over this trip at Haydock recently. Showed a nice turn of acceleration and while this a tougher field off 6lb higher, he should have plenty more to offer.
Two of five career successes have come on soft ground and now 7lb below the last of them. Yet to win at this trip but has gone close, however needs to lift on a poor run in a lower grade at Pontefract last time.
Losing run now stretches back to August 2017 despite falling mark. Conditions are fine but last two runs on the AW have been poor and this is tougher still. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Came From The Dark (2/1), Lucky Lucky Man (11/2), Pennsylvania Dutch (11/2), Sheepscar Lad (13/2), Gin In The Inn (7/1), Royal Prospect (8/1), Russian Realm (14/1), Henley (20/1), Arcavallo (25/1)
The more testing the ground, the better for Lucky Lucky Man, who should now be fully fit following improvement with each of his runs this year. Wind surgery has been the making of PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH and the winning run of form can continue at this level. Came From The Dark is the one who has the most improvement to come and was visually impressive in his breakthrough win.
