Has form on ground with give in it. Would have a right chance off the same mark as when finishing runner-up at Goodwood (6f; good to soft) just six days ago. Open to more improvement and could well regain winning thread.

Enjoyed a very productive season last year when running consistently well and winning twice. 1lb lower than for making encouraging seasonal reappearance at Windsor but that was on faster ground than is forecast and over 6f. Definite player on form.

Not shown his very best form in last two starts. Had been running well on Chelmsford AW before producing those disappointing efforts. Won on soft on debut but that was four years ago and he now has a bit to prove.

Had previously been in the doldrum prior to finishing a fair fourth at Lingfield (5f; standard) on the AW. Has been dropped a further 5lb for that and could get involved if able to build upon that more encouraging effort.

Bettered first run of the season when finishing fifth at Bath (5f; good to firm) last time. May have got closer with more luck, and despite showing his best form at the Bath he is entitled to run well. Reservations about him on soft ground though.

Showed evident progress from first run of the season when finishing third on AW at Chelmsford (5f; standard). Player if improving again and she went very close to winning on her only visit to this track when finish a neck-second.

Only run on soft ground when a well-beaten at favourite at Nottingham (5f; soft) tempers enthusiasm somewhat. However, he has fared okay on both starts this term and could snatch a place if handling conditions.

Has been quiet in two runs so far this season. Hasn't won since the end of the 2017 campaign. However, he is now 6lb below the mark he ran off when third in a competitive handicap at Ascot (5f; good to firm) last year.

Made a very modest stable debut for this yard when eighth of nine in a lower grade than this at Lingfield (5f; good to firm). Major revival required on the basis of that effort in what is a better race.

Has been poor of late but best run in recent months came when he finished third at Nottingham (5f; soft) in similar conditions to what are forecast. 12lb below last winning mark but there is a rather large degree of faith needed to fancy him.

Fantasy Keeper (13/8), Our Oystercatcher (6/1), King Robert (8/1), Wiley Post (8/1), Bahamian Sunrise (8/1), Delagate This Lord (17/2), Pettochside (14/1), Secretfact (20/1), Kodiac Express (25/1), Wiff Waff (40/1)

Verdict

A tricky sprint handicap in which recent winning form is hard to come by. Pettochside hinted at a return to form when fourth at Lingfield at the start of the month and could grab a place again off a 5lb lower mark, and with the added offset of 7lb by talented claimer Cieren Fallon. Similar comments apply to Our Oystercatcher who showed improvement from his first run of the season when not beaten far at Chelmsford last time. He had possible excuses when disappointing on his only run on soft ground. FANTASY KEEPER is the selection though, after his second in this grade at Goodwood last week. He has form (including a win) on soft and should go very close off the same mark.
