Southwell AW specialist who has eight AW wins but only one third from 10 starts on turf. Untested on extreme going and although not disgraced when sixth last start over this C&D, more still required.
Sole win came in France in very testing conditions and has shown a clear preference for soft ground since arriving in Britain. Has gone close off this mark previously and unlikely to inconvenienced by conditions. Rates a leading hope.
Has handled soft ground well in the past but although he's dropping quickly in the weights now, he has to leave three very poor runs behind. Others look more reliable candidates.
Handles heavy ground very well and sole win came on soft ground at Redcar at the end of last year. Now just 2lb higher than that winning mark and should be better for two runs back in less suitable conditions. Leading player.
Inconsistent form in three starts so far this year and although back on last winning mark, his two career successes have come over sprint distances on quick ground. May be less suited by the conditions.
Last three wins have come with cut in the ground, including a win on heavy and now 5lb lower than the last of them. A touch below his best though in four starts this year and more needed now.
Two wins from 14 starts have come over sprint distances with one on heavy ground. 1lb higher than last winning mark and although she has raced close over this distance, others probably stronger stayers in these conditions.
Second on heavy ground on last year's debut and gained a first win on his fourth start and seasonal reappearance on quick ground at Musselburgh. Bit below that in two starts since, including following a gelding operation. Not one to give up on yet.
Forecasts
Zeyzoun (3/1), City Tour (7/2), Make Me (6/1), Cotubanama (6/1), Cameo Star (7/1), Custard The Dragon (15/2), Explain (8/1), Robsdelight (16/1)
City Tour is likely to need further in time, so it could be that a slog over this trip will suit. Make Me loves this ground and should be fully fit following a couple of runs back. ZEYZOUN is perhaps a touch better handicapped and this preferred ground can see him break his British duck.
