Was seventh of eight runners on his British debut at Chelmsford (1m2f) on the AW last month where he went off at 40/1 in the betting. Did win a Listed race over 1m in Italy. Down 6lb from last run and has tongue tie on for first time. One to watch.

Has yet to win on turf in 21 attempts so far but has had two wins on the AW. Was sixth of 14 at Epsom last time over the extended mile trip. Has been given a chance by the handicapper off this mark. One to consider.

Returned to action at Newmarket (1m) after a wind-op and was denied victory by just a neck. He could only finish seventh of 10 at the same track last time over 1m1f where he pulled hard. Hood on today for first time. Worth giving another chance.

Was a winner on the AW over 1m last year at Chelmsford. His best run so far this season came at Newmarket (7f) two starts back when third of five runners. Got worked up before his last disappointing run at Epsom (1m½f). Has to bounce back.

A four-time winner who is back on a winning mark. Was third of 10 for new yard on first run of season on AW at Chelmsford (7f). Didn't improve last time at that same track as he finished sixth of eight. Capable of bouncing back but others preferred.

Won twice over this distance last year. Has been disappointing so far this season, although his latest run was much better where he was fourth of eight at Carlisle over 1m. His mark has dropped further. Has to be respected.

Has not won since September 2017 but has hit the frame a few times, including two starts ago when third in a big field at Ascot over this distance. Was well held last time at Newmarket (1m) but once to consider today.

Has been running really well on the AW with victory coming at Wolverhampton on first run of season over 1m½f. Was then second of six Chelmsford over 1m. Now needs to transfer form to turf. One to consider.

Verdict

POWER OF DARKNESS ruined his chance at the start last time at Newmarket as not only was he slow away, he pulled really hard in the opening stages. The cheekpieces are now off and a hood is on which should help him settle so he is worth giving another chance here. Wahash is off a fair mark but he may have to settle for the placings once again, while Lamloom can go close if he builds on his promising run at Carlisle.
