Looked to appreciate the step up in distance when third of eight at Brighton (1m4) last month on her first run since having a wind-op. Down in grade and interesting jockey booking so one to consider.

A maiden after six races where she has shown very little so far on the AW surface. She was last of nine at Kempton (1m) on the polytrack back in March. This will be her opening run on turf and she will need to improve.

Returned to action when a respectable third of seven runners at Lingfield (1m3½f) last month. Did win over this distance at Windsor last July. Should come on for her last outing so she is a stronger player.

Dual-purpose horse who did not have any success over hurdles earlier in the year. Won over this distance at Lingfield last July but was disappointing on his next start at Brighton (1m4) where he was fifth of eight runners. Need to bounce back.

Was in good form in 2017 with two victories to his name but has been slowly on the decline down the weights since then. Was sixth of 13 on the AW at Wolverhampton (1m6f) last time. Blinkers on for first time. Something to prove on return to turf.

Experienced mare who has won six times on the AW but is 0-9 on turf. Was third of 12 last time on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton ( 1m4f). First turf run since October. Others preferred.

Has finished second on the AW at Wolverhampton twice this season over 1m4f. She didn't quite perform as well on her return to turf last time as she was sixth of seven at Lingfield over this distance. Needs to transfer AW form to turf.

A C&D winner who is now back down to a mark he is very capable off. Back up in trip following his eighth place finish of 15 at Nottingham (1m2) last time. Conditions should suit. One to watch.

Still a maiden after eight races and has yet to show any promise on turf or AW. Was fifth of eight over hurdles at Plumpton (2m) back in April but then refused to race last time at Brighton (1m4f) on his return to the Flat. Very difficult to fancy.

Won at Brighton (1m2f) in April 2018 but has struggled to follow that up since then. Has been running on the AW earlier this year without any success. She was 13th of 15 last time out at Chelmsford (1m2f). Others preferred.

Was a winner at Beverley (1m4f) last year in his sole success in 2018. Has ran moderately well on his two hurdles starts this year, including latest outing at Worcester (2m) when fourth of 12. Each-way claims.

Hasn't won since October 2015 but has run consistently well. Was disappointing last time on the AW at Kempton (1m4f) when seventh of 14. Down in the weights again and has to be respected off this mark.

Produced his best effort yet last time at Nottingham (1m2f) when third of 15 where he ran on strongly in the closing stages to suggest this trip will suit. Strong market vibes which make him very interesting.

Verdict

This doesn't look to be the strongest of handicaps as so many of these have something to prove on turf. STAR OF ATHENA has a good opportunity to break her maiden and with an interesting jockey booking, she is favoured to beat her rivals. Das Kapital was finishing his race strongly at Nottingham last time and will enjoy this step up in distance so can be challenging at the finish, while you should never discount Filament Of Gold at Bath as he has a great record here.
