After three average runs on the AW, this gelding has improved with every outing this season highlighted when running an excellent race at Windsor earlier this month. Coped with soft ground on his seasonal reappearance and definitely the one to beat.

Steady handicapper who was rewarded for some fair efforts on the AW when scoring at Lingfield in March. Showed her well-being when finishing runner-up in a Bath handicap in May. on firm going. Expected ground an unknown.

Useful effort to win at Windsor earlier this month and entitled to improve again. Struggled on expected going on his seasonal reappearance in an Ascot maiden but huge chance if acting on this ground.

Ran best race of last season on soft ground at FFos Las over an extended seven furlongs. Disappointed on seasonal reappearance at Windsor on fast ground. Should handle ground and possibly suited by step up in trip. Cheekpieces on for the first time.

Seems to be regressing based on the evidence of her two runs this season at Redcar and Southwell. Easy to leave out of calculations unless looks to be suited by the expected soft ground.

Had shown a modicum of form on her first three racecourse appearances but let herself down badly when trailing in 8/8 beaten 20l in a Lingfield handicap in April. Best watched.

Arguably showed her best form on a soft surface when showing a little bit of talent in a Carlisle maiden last year. Steady enough performer but may need this run and this represents a huge step up in trip.

Has showed slightly improved form this season in two 1m4f events at Beverley and Lingfield. Nothing in his latest start to suggest he is capable of winning this sort of contest.

Failed to get competitive when stepped up in trip last time over 1m2f. May certainly appreciate this extra distance and has some useful bits of form last season. Expected soft ground an unknown.

Well beaten on all four career starts to date including at this track. Nothing to suggest she is likely to trouble the judges here unless revelling in the expected soft ground.

No real promise over inadequate trips as a two-year-old. Showed same level of form on reappearance before disappointing on soft ground when stepped up in trip (1m1f) last time out. Stable respected but others preferred.

Verdict

Topweight JUNIOR RIP is progressing well and has the advantage of form on the expected going. With so few contenders having raced on a surface so soft it is a definite plus. Summa Force is another who has coped with a soft surface in the past and the application of cheekpieces makes him a leading candidate if he takes to them. Mukha Magic in his first time visor may be best of the rest.
