Primarily campaigned on AW of late but ran over C&D three starts ago and failed by just a head to land the spoils off a 2lb lower mark. Soft ground holds no fears but 1-15 career record tells its own story.

Five-time winner but all at 7f and hasn't hit the target since October 2017. Drop back in trip not sure to suit but will handle the ground and is 13lb lower than last win.

Appeared not to see out the stiff 7f at Beverley last time having run with promise over 6f on handicap bow at Newcastle previous start. Eased 2lb and takes on older horses for the first time.

Handicap debut after three starts over 5-6f a where hinted at ability without tearing up any trees. Yard continues in fine form and this gelding should handle the easy ground being a son of heavy going Group 1 winner Mayson.

Just 2-33 career record but both victories have come in 6f handicaps in soft ground so has conditions to suit. Bit disappointing in seller last time but may bounce back and is respected.

Showed precious little in six starts for Brian Barr but change of scene may have helped and ran well for new handler when third at Bath on firm ground last month. This is a different kettle of fish though.

19-race maiden who didn't stay in last two attempts over a mile and drops back to sprinting. Ground an unknown although ran well enough on good to soft last year when third at Catterick. On balance, faces a tough task once again.

Forecasts

Global Melody (9/4), Our Charlie Brown (11/4), Cupid's Arrow (9/2), Stallone (5/1), Tizwotitiz (6/1), Gunnison (10/1), Dubai Elegance (10/1), Flora Tristan (12/1), Bayards Cove (20/1), Cardaw Lily (22/1)

Verdict

The fact that connections bring STALLONE here knowing they're facing soft ground suggests they think he'll handle it and, if so, he is less exposed than most of his rivals and has every chance. Our Charlie Brown is better over 7f but in this ground his stamina may prove a help, while top weight Global Melody is respected although he finds winning quite a challenge. Gunnison is a potential improver on handicap bow and could be dangerous, while Cupid's Arrow is respected despite being beaten in selling company last time.
