130,000 gns yearling that ran with some promise behind a hot favourite at Ripon last time; was still well beaten on the day and more now needed.

Well beaten in both previous starts and needs to improve in leaps and bounds now tried over this new trip. Qualifies for a mark after this, so might do better once contesting handicaps.

Good effort to finish third in a C&D maiden in April and looks a likely improver; the betting can guide but he looks the more interesting of the stable's two intended runners (also represented by Fox Vardy).

Stable's runners usually come on for an outing and no surprise to see this son of Galileo leave his debut run well behind. The form has been let down by the winner since but likely there's more to come from this 350,000 gns yearling.

60,000 gns yearling that is related to 1m2f winner in Europe and Koeman, a middle distance winner who is still going strong for Mick Channon. Likely to need the run; the betting can help.

40,000 gns yearling that was brushed aside over C&D on debut but was much better when second to an improving type last time out. More needed but has plenty of scope. Worth a betting check.

Improved since upped in distance but was an expensive favourite to follow last time; pedigree says this step up in trip should suit so all might not be lost. Small leap of faith required regarding stamina though.

Failed to build on a what was a promising debut when she was brushed aside over 1m2f last time out; hard to fancy on that evidence.

Forecasts

Make My Day (13/8), Inclyne (9/4), Isolate (8/1), Arthur Pendragon (17/2), Fox Vardy (9/1), Moghram (16/1), Eighteenhundred (16/1), Mankayan (25/1), Isabella Brant (28/1), Lyrical Waters (66/1)

Verdict

The well bred MAKE MY DAY has a regal pedigree that is almost impossible to ignore at this level. The Galileo colt was a clear second best on debut but, in turn, was also well ahead of two subsequent winners on the day. A step forward will see the colt hard to master this time. Isolate and Moghram are forwarded as the likeliest dangers to the selection.
  1. Make My Day
  2. Isolate
  3. Moghram
