Back below his last winning handicap mark after two poor performances this year. Can be slowly away and wouldn't want the ground to get too soft.
Won four times in the space of six starts towards the end of 2017/start of 2018 season. 7lb below his last winning handicap mark and while he disappointed here last time, a useful apprentice takes 3lb off.
His latest success came over C&D towards the end of last year. Has disappointed in three outings this time around though and tends to show his best form on quicker ground.
Struggling for any sort of form since joining this yard and hasn't won for more than two years now. Better on quicker ground and hard to fancy at present.
Losing run stretches back to 2015 but has been in good form of late, only finding one too good on each of his last couple of starts. Wide draw not ideal but has run well on soft ground before and isn't one to rule out.
Just one win from 21 starts and that came over 6f at Leicester on fast ground. Not obviously well-handicapped but can't be ruled out in current form.
Belatedly got off the mark in a Ripon maiden last year and followed up at Haydock next time. Shaped okay when fifth of 10 on return at Redcar but still above her highest winning mark and wide draw isn't ideal.
Most of her wins have come over 6f but her latest success was over C&D and soft ground should bring her stamina in to play. Needs a bit more to defy this handicap mark.
Four wins from 28 starts but struggled towards the back end of last season and has kicked off this campaign in a similar vein. Has won at this venue and way below his last winning handicap mark at least.
Just two wins from her 37 starts. Hasn't been with this outfit long though and they can often be rejuvenated at some stage. Optimum ground conditions and trip and well below last winning handicap mark.
All of his best recent efforts have come over this trip. Running okay in defeat in four starts this season and while he's regressing (no surprise given his age), he'll probably get back on the board at some stage this year; can be slowly away.
Just two wins from 48 starts and only one since 2014. Ran okay on debut for this yard last time out but has never shown much form on soft ground down the years.

Paul Midgley is a trainer who does well with his sprinters and he won this race last year. His two representatives are interesting and it's LATHOM who is the one that makes most appeal after two very promising performances of late. Sheepscar Lad and Fumbo Jumbo are both well-handicapped if they can re-find their best form.
- Lathom
- Sheepscar Lad
- Fumbo Jumbo
