Just one win from 24 starts and that came on AW at Dundalk in January 2018. Had been running okay in defeat on AW earlier in the campaign but beaten a long way at Southwell last time out. Has a bit to prove.
Won four times last year, including three turf wins but he's been beaten a long way in his three starts this time around. Still above his last winning mark and others preferred at present.
Four wins from 18 starts on turf and came on for his reappearance with a good fourth of 14 at Carlisle last time out. Lurks on a dangerous mark and acts on soft ground.
Has a respectable career strike-rate of 15 wins from 96 starts but he's not been at his best since joining this outfit following a hat-trick on AW at the start of the year. Below last winning mark but has something to prove at present.
Gained a first win since his maiden success at Lingfield when winning at Catterick in October. Has returned with some fair efforts in defeat this time around but at his best on quicker ground than what's likely here.
Won this race in 2017 and four of his six wins have come over C&D. Has disappointed in four starts this year including a couple of course wins but back on a nice handicap mark as a result.
Just one win from 25 starts and that came over 5f at Catterick. Ran some fair races in defeat last year but this is competitive and her best efforts have come on fast ground.
Has enjoyed a fruitful AW campaign this winter but he's not as effective on turf, as his two wins from 35 turf starts suggests. Has a course win (5f) to his name and not ruled out from his reduced turf mark.
Won twice last year and has plenty of form with cut in the ground. Wasn't beaten far in a selling handicap at Thirsk last time and very well-handicapped if he can build on that here; yard going well at present.
C&D winner back in 2017 but hasn't won since that success. A remarkable 30lb below his last winning handicap mark and signs he's returning to form in recent starts; interesting.
Yet to win in 12 starts and tailed off on first start since wind surgery at Newcastle last time. Has it all to prove at present.

Forecasts
Captain Dion (2/1), Black Salt (3/1), Kodicat (6/1), Round The Island (6/1), Highly Sprung (7/1), Uncle Charlie (8/1), Jacob's Pillow (9/1), Gunmaker (9/1), Sfumato (10/1), Mr Wagyu (10/1), Crosse Fire (12/1), Deeds Not Words (20/1), Mr Strutter (25/1), Mosseyb (28/1)
A competitive heat with a couple of previous winners of the race in the line up. 2017's winner ROUND THE ISLAND finds himself back on a nice handicap mark and makes most appeal at a course and distance he has a fantastic record at. Jacob's Pillow and Captain Dion both appeal as well-handicapped while Mr Wagyu could go well after a better effort last time out.
- Round The Island
- Jacob's Pillow
- Mr Wagyu
