Little promise in maidens and no better since upped in trip and switched to handicaps. Down in class but hard to fancy on evidence to date.
Didn't show much at two but was the subject of a gamble on comeback run over 1m2f at Salisbury last month. Disappointed when well beaten and something to prove but clearly thought capable of better.
Moderate form to date over shorter trips at big prices and on breeding this step up in trip isn't sure to suit.
Showed virtually nothing in trio of maidens and it was the same on handicap debut over 1m1f. Needs this longer trip to unlock something.
Shown very little in three qualifying runs at 1m2f but bred to be better and step up in trip a plus. Interesting to see if any confidence in her in the market and not one to give up on yet.
Has shown in three maidens at up to 1m and while he could improve now handicapping, the step up in trip a concern as the dam was a sprinter.
No improvement since switched to handicaps and up to this trip. Hood tried last time quickly dispensed with and others preferred.
Landed 1m2f handicap at Chelmsford in February and generally consistent in this grade including when tried at this trip last time. though slow starts of late a slight concern.
Stepped up 4f in distance when trying 1m6f at Redcar last week and ran well in defeat when third of nine. This represents an ease in class and while the drop down to 1m4f may not be ideal, that is the best recent form on offer.
Didn't improve for the step up to this trip on handicap debut which was a bit disappointing as the dam stayed extreme distances. Still early days and not one to give up on yet.
Has beaten just one rival since going into handicaps over 1m and will need this 4f longer trip to bring about dramatic improvement that is required.
Sprang a 25/1 shock over C&D in February when making most. Hasn't been able to build on that including on a return here but claims if returning to that form.
Tried at various trips all starts but with little promise at huge prices and not hard to look elsewhere unless the market suggests otherwise.
Bit better when third having gone from the front at Wolverhampton on latest but did have the run of the race and others have fewer miles on the clock and make more appeal.
Forecasts
Goodwood Sonnet (4/1), Born Leader (5/1), Land Of Winter (5/1), Robeam (6/1), Chakrii (8/1), Keith (10/1), Highway Robbery (12/1), Bader (14/1), Ginge N Tonic (16/1), Padmavati (20/1), Elsie Violet (25/1), Riverina (25/1), Lucky Circle (33/1), Milistorm (66/1)
GOODWOOD SONNET was a disappointment at Salisbury considering his strength in the market but presumably is thought capable of better and can make amends. Born Leader makes handicap debut and on breeding could leave her maiden form behind while Robeam has stamina in abundance and has solid place claims.
- Goodwood Sonnet
- Born Leader
- Robeam
