Bath scorer on quick ground over the minimum trip on her debut winning readily in a race where the favourite failed to fire. Failed to fire in more testing company at York last time; now returns to a more suitable grade under a penalty.

Very different ground conditions for her second run having shaped nicely on her debut on soft ground at Nottingham; got the hang of things in the closing stages. Should derive plenty from her debut; yard only 1-32 with juveniles so far.

The most experienced in this line-up (this will be her sixth start) certainly knows her job by now but looks vulnerable to some of the more unexposed types. Reverts to 5f after finishing second here over 6f last time; hard to see any progression.
Stable have a very modest (3-76) strike-rate with first-time out juveniles which doesn't bode well for this daughter of Camacho. Cost £12,000 as a yearling; the distaff side of her pedigree suggests that she will need stiffer tests than this.

Well beaten on debut (trainer has a poor first-time out record) she stepped forward last time at Goodwood despite still looking in need of the experience. Not beaten far by a useful newcomer she looks sure to progress; may need 6f.

Just the one run for Jennie Candlish when showing very little on her Windsor debut (looked backward/inexperienced). Hard to think that she will make any major progress here on her debut for a new yard; others appeal far more.

Hardly a go-to yard for juveniles first-time out (2-122 record) it would be a surprise to see them improve that record here. First foal of a once-raced dam who cost €5,500 as a yearling; best watched on debut.

Very much the second string from this yard having shown moderate progress from debut to second run but not enough to inspire confidence. Still looked in need of the experience last time over 6f (never on terms); hard to fashion a case for.

Verdict

With the yard not really having hit the mark with their two-year-olds so far the case for GO WELL SPICEY isn’t as strong as it might be considering the promise she showed on her debut at Nottingham. Silver Start will appreciate this ease in grade and should carry her penalty with distinction having been sharp enough to win on her debut. Twice As Likely is gradually getting the hang of things having outperformed market expectations last time and another step forward is expected here. Of the newcomers Lady Melody has to be respected coming from a yard that are doing well with two-year-olds this one a rare runner at the track for them and that may be significant.

  2. Silver Start
  3. Lady Melody
