Horse silk
100/1
120,000gns yearling who was picked up very cheaply (for £800) in August 2018; well beaten on both Flat starts (7f-1m2f); look elsewhere.
2
(7)
Horse silk
33/1
Cost 145,000gns as a juvenile; placed on both starts on the AW at Southwell (7f-1m) without appearing to be anything out of the ordinary; turf debut.

(4)
Horse silk
Foxes Flyerp1,t115
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: Darragh Keenan(5)| T: L McJannet
100/1
Similar form in a couple of 7f Kempton novices'; needs to take a marked step forward for the introduction of cheekpieces and a tongue-tie.

Horse silk
Funny Man18
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: Gianluca Sanna(7)| T: W J Haggas| BF
25/1
Beaten favourite at this track (a weakening sixth of eight) on his second start last month; possible that a drop back in trip (from 1m2f) will see him in a better light; stablemate of Incredulous.
Godolphin cast-off (£125,000 yearling who was sold unraced for £800 in January 2019); slowly away and green on debut when finishing second to Magwadiri in a Redcar seller (7f) ten days ago.

Morning Duel
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: D Nolan| T: D O'Meara
16/1
Third foal from a 6f AW winning dam (Days Of Summer); half-brother to the 6f juvenile winner Serradura; merits a market check.
7
(10)
Horse silk
7/1
16,000gns yearling; third foal from a 1m Listed winning dam (Sooraah); brother to the 1m AW winner Labhay; very much one to consider as a realistic contender on racecourse debut.
8
(1)
Horse silk
4/1
Daughter of Intello out of the 7f-1m Listed winner Fantasize; half-sister to three winners including the Listed-placed Illusion; looks to be the clear pick of the Haggas duo on pedigree and riding arrangements.
9
(5)
Horse silk
Maamora14
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: F Norton| T: S & E Crisford| OR:  83
4/5
Experienced filly who has finished runner up on all three starts in 2019, including when splitting a pair of Gosden newcomers at Goodwood (1m2f, good) a fortnight ago; shortlisted as the clear form pick.
10
(8)
Horse silk
7/1
Invincible Spirit filly who could be better over middle distances with more time; appeared in need of the experience when finishing seventh of 13 to Bighearted in a 1m fillies' maiden at Windsor (good) 17 days ago.

Forecasts

Maamora (4/5), Incredulous (4/1), New Arrangement (7/1), Quiet Note (7/1), Morning Duel (16/1), Funny Man (25/1), Kind Review (33/1), Battle Of Yarmouk (33/1), Foxes Flyer (100/1), The Retriever (100/1)

Verdict

On paper both New Arrangement and Incredulous rate as intriguing types who can probably be expected to figure with prominence on their respective debuts for James Tate and William Haggas (also saddles Funny Man). However, it's possible that the more experienced MAAMORA can break her duck at the sixth time of asking having done little wrong in defeat in three starts so far in 2019. She is the clear form-based pick, a fact which could be overlooked by some punters due to what might be considered as a string of frustrating second placed finishes.
  1. Maamora
  2. Incredulous
  3. New Arrangement
