Hugely impressive on debut at Southwell when galloping right away from his rivals for a 13l success, not quite so good at Thirsk last time but possible track didn't suit. Drop to stiff 6f could be ideal, and if repeating debut effort, holds chances

Made a solid debut at Redcar in April and then built on that to score back at that track in early May. Form nothing special though, and she's unproven on soft, so may need to pull out more under a penalty here.

Well beaten last of ten on debut at Newcastle in January, not seen since and now a tongue-tie tried. Can only watch until showing more.

Tailed off last of eight over a mile on debut at Nottingham last month. Tongue tie now tried but can't be entertained on that debut effort.

Not badly bred (decent sand pedigree, should connections ever try it) and should win a race or two given time, but trainer simply doesn't get first time out winners. Best watched today.

Cost 25,000gns as a foal, price rising to 65,000gns as a yearling; half-brother to a few winners and made a perfectly satisfactory debut at Newbury last month. Likely to do better here, and place chances at worst if stepping forward.

4th foal, half-brother to the speedy Taexali, who raced in the same ownership. Penny was dropping late with him on debut at Gowran but all the same, this looks a bit tough.

Price has risen every time he's been through the ring, purchased for €130,000 as a 2yo last year. Bred to be speedy but possible he'll need this experience, and may be best watched.

Too green to do himself justice on debut at Doncaster three weeks ago, likely to know more here but possibly one for nurseries down the line.

Wasn't seen out until last October, suggesting she wa slate coming to herself and might well do better as a 3yo. Third of five on debut at Haydock but that form only modest, so she needs a lot more here.

Purchased for €41,000 as a 2yo, related to a few sprint winners and showed good speed at Nottingham last time before fading out of it, finishing third. That form is modest but she is at least going the right way.

Forecasts

Puerto Banus (2/1), I Could Do Better (2/1), Alexander James (9/4), Last Empire (4/1), Mina Velour (15/2), Victory Ahead (9/1), Senorita Grande (20/1), Cheam Avenue (40/1), Twentysixthstreet (50/1), Indiaro (100/1), Gatesy (100/1), Gregory The Great (100/1), Pandora's Minder (150/1)

Verdict

I Could Do Better goes in search of the hat-trick but the penalties are stacking up and maybe ALEXANDER JAMES can take advantage of the 7lb he gets from him. He was very impressive on his Southwell debut and although dropping back to 6f here, that might not be an issue on the forecast soft ground. He can get back to winning ways. Puerto Banus looks the best of the rest.
