Showed herself to be on a workable mark when ½L second at Bath (5½f, firm; 14-1) on second start back last month. Gone up 3lb for that, but still should remain competitive.
Filly was a 6f winner at Salisbury in 2017 (second start) but regressed last year. Weakened late on in stable debut at Lingfield (6f, good to firm; 9-1) 11 days ago. Drops in trip here and entitled to be sharper for that run.
No win since August 2017 (Chester 5f); experienced nine-year-old ran a cracker on reappearance at Doncaster (6f, good to firm; 50-1) 16 days ago and can hold claims over this trip with a repeat having been eased 2lb since.
10-year-old finds the winners enclosure often enough (13-86), though more prolific on the AW. Weakened rapidly at Thirsk (5f, good to soft; 20-1) last time out and has plenty to prove, despite forecast better ground.
All five career wins (5-55) have come on turf. Was slowly way on seasonal bow at Windsor (5f, good; 16-1) but recovered to finish good second to front-running winner. Runs from unchanged mark, down in class and worth an interest.
Couple of placed efforts to show for eight runs around this enigmatic course he's been in fair form of late on the AW. Lost his penultimate race via disqualification and ran with credit last time (runner-up); solid player back on turf.
14-race maiden, ran one of her better races over C&D 13 days ago in Classified Stakes when just run out of the money at 66-1. Wouldn't be the safest bet to back the run up.
Maiden of 15 starts now, all of them over sprint trips, alternating between AW/turf without much in the way of positives. Beaten 6¾L in eighth of 11 here 13 days ago and not likely to turn things around dramatically.
Forecasts
Normal Equilibrium (2/1), Essaka (7/2), Exceedingly Diva (7/2), Ghepardo (4/1), Come On Dave (11/1), Hurricane Alert (16/1), Tina Teaspoon (33/1), Hornby (100/1)
Normal Equilibrium outran a massive price at Doncaster on reappearance and might have snatched that prize over this trip. Ivan Furtado's charge has been eased 2lb since and needs plenty respecting but the vote is reserved for ESSAKA now. He was rather slowly away at Windsor last time but managed to overhaul all bar the front-running winner for Sophie Ralston. He's off the same mark now and dual course winner should go very well. Ghepardo is a little unfortunate to be up 3lb for finishing second but does join Hurricane Alert on the shortlist just the same.
- Essaka
- Normal Equilibrium
- Ghepardo
