Finished third just eight days ago to the extremely promising Pierre Lapin at Haydock (6f; good to firm). That was a marked improvement on what he showed on debut and he is a huge player if reproducing a similar level of form.
Havana Gold-colt who was a 30,000gns yearling. Doesn't hold any fancy entries but watch the betting on debut. Otherwise more of a longer term project.
£4,500 yearling. Stable are just 3-88 with two-year-olds in the last five seasons. Appeals as one to keep an eye on more for the future.
Cost a pretty penny as a yearling but has not gone close to repaying any of that in two satisfactory runs so far. Both of those efforts have came in hot races though and this represents a golden opportunity to make it third time lucky.
Sent off as the 13/8F on debut at Windsor (5f; good). Ran very green and was off the bridle throughout all of the race. Stables two-year-olds tend to improve a good deal from their debut runs and he should show much more this time round.
15,000gns yearling who is by Cityscape. Comes from another stable who aren't well known for having two year old debut winners but is respected on debut. Unlikely to trouble any of the leading contenders too much.
Related to the talented English/Irish 2000 Guineas winner Cockney Rebel but stable is just 2-32 with two-year-olds within the last five seasons.
Well-bred son of the talented Australian sprinter Brazen Beau who was a G1 winner in Australia and finished runner-up in the G1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot. Stable not firing on all cylinders this season though so hard to recommend on debut.
Connections renowned for formidable record with two-year-old debut winners. $200,000 yearling who is by Triple Crown heroine American Pharoah. Has more of a dirt pedigree but is still a fascinating contender on debut.
Swiss Spirit-filly who cost £9,000 as a yearling. Trainer doesn't have a particularly sparkling record with two-year-old winners and so she is best watched on debut.
Forecasts
Full Verse (4/6), Saqqara King (5/2), Bravo Faisal (6/1), Kuwait Direction (9/1), Little Ted (20/1), Raahy (22/1), Broken Rifle (25/1), Moonshine Mo (40/1), Majarra (66/1), Dream Isle (66/1)
Up until now FULL VERSE hasn't lived up to what connections were probably hoping for when he made his debut at Newmarket at the Craven meeting. He has far from disgraced himself in two warm maidens though and this is an easier assignment which can allow him to gain a first career success. If showing a similar level of form to what he demonstrated at Haydock when third behind one of the most exciting debut winners we have witnessed all season, Bravo Faisal will push the selection all the way. Kuwait Direction is likely to improve markedly on his disappointing debut effort and he holds definite place claims.
