Still relatively lightly raced but profile suggests he prefers the AW. Had three runs on good to firm ground last season when never involved. Well beaten when making seasonal return at Chelmsford, which leaves him with plenty to prove.
Something has clicked recently and he is now in the form of his life. Got the hat-trick up at Redcar (2m; good to firm) last time when beating Divin Bere. 15lb higher since the first of those wins but still hard to oppose in bid for the four-timer.
Has produced two solid runner-up efforts since joining the Iain Jardine stable from Paul Nicholls. First of those came behind Echo who he reopposes with today. No obvious reason why he will reverse the form but still bound to be on the premises.
Desperately struggling for form at present. Never involved in two runs on the level this year. Has subsequently dropped down to his last winning mark which he scored off at Chelmsford (1m5f; standard) in September. Remains best watched for now.
Had three outings so far this season and most recent one was by far the best of them when third at Pontefract (1m4f; good to firm). Shaped encouragingly on only try at this trip when fourth behind the talented Lucky Deal at Nottingham last year.
First run on the flat for almost a year today, since finishing seventh of 11 at Haydock (1m2f; good to firm) when well fancied (7-2F) in June 2018. Enjoyed a fairly productive spell over hurdles since then and holds definite place claims in this.
Finished off last season with a well held effort at Haydock (2m; heavy) which was his last run on turf. Has raced exclusively on the AW since the turn of the year and largely out of form, but showed some improvement last time when runner-up.
Forecasts
Echo (3/1), Big Time Dancer (3/1), Divin Bere (4/1), Swordbill (6/1), Jumping Cats (7/1), Airplane (8/1), Angel Gabrial (14/1)
He has offered much more encouragement in two runs for his new stable and looks sure to give connections plenty of fun this season, but there is no obvious reason why Divin Bere should reverse the form with ECHO on the back of their Redcar run last time out. The selection travelled into the race smoothly before showing a willing attitude to grind out the final two furlongs of that contest which should serve him well as he drops back down to 1m6f. He should have no problems in his bid for the four timer. On his sole attempt at this trip, Airplane ran respectably in fourth behind an upwardly mobile rival, and he can prove best of the rest.
