Sixth foal; well named brother to Scots Sonnet; half-brother to Sir Chauvelin (1m4f-1m6f) and Euchen Glen (1m2f-2m); refused to enter the stalls at Newcastle last month.
55,000 gns Lonrho half-brother to a turf winner in the US. Never in the hunt on his sole start in October 2017 and an absence since makes him hard to recommend.
Modest form in three bumpers and an AW novice. Doubtful he has the ability or speed to win a race such as this.
Good fourth on debut at Pontefract (1m, good-to-soft) last October but disappointed upped to 1m2f at Wetherby (good) last month. Looks a more likely type for a handicap in due course.
150,000 gns Nathaniel colt related to three winners including Grandee who has won at Listed level. Stable are 5-6 with three-year-olds here since 2014 so one of the leading players in a moderate race.
Bred for speed but it was his stamina that caught the eye on his Redcar debut when staying on in mid-division. Looks the type to do better in time with the yard's runners improving for a run.
By French sire Siyouni, he cost €160,000 as a yearling and his dam won over 1m2f in Listed company. Tracked the leaders for a long way on debut in a race that has worked out exceptionally well, although ultimately he was beaten 33L.
Second in a Newmarket maiden as a juvenile, but that form does not look as strong now and he has been well held on both starts since. Highly tried in a strong handicap on return and pressure on to produce in this company.
Showed plenty of promise on both starts last year and had James Park Woods behind on latest. Has shown he handles some cut in the ground and a rare runner here for the yard.
Gelded son of Nathaniel and half-brother to Listed winning sprinter Dance Diva. Stable 5-135 in novice events over the past five years.
Australia filly out of an unraced mare who is a half-sister to Toronado. Originally cost 75,000 gns as a yearling but changed hands last autumn for 8,000 gns. Probably best watched on debut.
Kingman filly who showed the benefit of her debut when noted staying on well after a slow start last time. Longer trip here looks beneficial and she does not appear to have much more to find in order to be involved,
Dawn Approach filly out of a dam who is a half-sister to a US Grade 2 winner. Yard can improve one for a run, but she has a lot to find following her debut.
Forecasts
James Park Woods (6/4), Caravan Of Hope (9/4), Skyman (4/1), Secretarial (9/2), At Peace (20/1), Global Rock (20/1), Storm Approaching (28/1), Tarbeyah (33/1), General Mischief (33/1), Thornton Le Clay (50/1), Ayr Poet (50/1), Howbaar (66/1), Kaizer (100/1)
James Park Woods sets the standard with an official rating of 81 but that is based on one run which can be undermined. The filly Secretarial is going the right way judged on her latest run, whilst Caravan Of Hope represents a yard with an exceptional strike rate here with his age group. SKYMAN had James Park Woods behind last time and had shown he handles today's forecast easy ground on his debut. Improvement is also likely now tackling this sort of trip and presumably after being gelded during the winter.
- Skyman
- Caravan Of Hope
- Secretarial
