3,000 gns vendor yearling and the first foal from a moderate dam. Backward and well beaten on debut so probably best watched for now.

Coase
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: B A Curtis| T: H Palmer
9/2
28,000 gns son of Zoffany related to two winners over 7f-1m2f. Stable do well here but generally with their older horses. Will be just the third juvenile runner of the campaign for them and the other two failed to make the frame.
Blew the start on debut and ran green. Did well to finish fourth under the circumstances and there had been market support for him. Will know more this time and top jockey is due to dash across from Wetherby for this one ride.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: G Lee| T: B Smart

8,000 gns yearling by Casamento out of a dam who was last on her only start. Not an obvious one on pedigree and there are others with stronger claims.

Gallaside14

4/5
From a yard who have had 13 juvenile winners this season and who took this last year. Third at Newmarket on debut in a race that did not look particularly strong beforehand but that experience counts for a lot.

12/1
€26,000 yearling by Panis (sire of Sands of Mali) out of a French maiden. Yard having an excellent year with this age group, but riding arrangements suggest Gallaside is the yard's main hope.

Inductive
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: P Mulrennan| T: M Dods
25/1
Canford Cliffs half-brother to a winning juvenile out of a dam who was placed over 5f-6f. Stable 1-16 with this age group in 2019 and he may be another one who needs the experience on debut.
€2,000 yearling by Roderic O'Connor out of a dam who won over 6f-7f. Stable off to a slower start than usual with this age group and others preferred.

Mr Gus12
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey
25/1
Slade Power colt who fetched €25,000 as a yearling. Never a factor after missing the break on debut when the market expected better. No surprise to see him show more here.

In the ruck on both starts so far and has not shown enough to suggest he can trouble the leading contenders for this contest.

One Bite
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: T Eaves| T: K Dalgleish
20/1
€30,000 yearling by Kodiac and half-brother to a winning juvenile. Already gelded and represents a yard who are 2-37 with this age group here since 2014.

Horse silk
16/1
Plenty of speed in the pedigree and he has been noted making late headway on both starts to date. Will appreciate the stiff finish here and one to note if supported.

Horse silk
20/1
Never a factor after a slow start on debut. Sent off at 33/1 that day and likely she has too much to find in order to figure.

Horse silk
40/1
Soon in trouble on debut at Newcastle where he was weak in the market. Needs to step up considerably here.

(14)
Horse silk
66/1
10,000 gns sister to 6f juvenile winner Society Shock and related to four other winners. Yard 2-57 with juveniles here for past five seasons.

Forecasts

Gallaside (4/5), Coase (9/2), Coast Ofalfujairah (6/1), Indra Dawn (12/1), Milltown Star (14/1), Vardon Flyer (16/1), Congratulate (20/1), One Bite (20/1), Frasard (25/1), Inductive (25/1), Mr Gus (25/1), Never Said Nothing (40/1), Moneyball (40/1), Teasel's Rock (66/1), Castashadow (66/1)

Verdict

Those with experience set a decent standard and the finish to the opener is worth bearing in mind and as the two main protagonists here, GALLASIDE and Coast Ofalfujairah, are drawn in stalls 15 and 2 respectively. The selection probably showed more on his debut and he is on the side that was favoured here last week. The latter was very green on debut in a race which has given out mixed signals since. Nevertheless, Jamie Spencer comes here for the one ride and that counts for a lot. Vardon Flyer has run better than his final position suggests on his two previous outings, whilst Mr Gus ran below expectations on debut but will be better for the run.
  1. Gallaside
  2. Coast Ofalfujairah
  3. Mr Gus
