Harshly treated after finishing close up in a messy Group 3 in September, and limitations exposed next time. Well beaten on handicap bow at Salisbury last month, and others stronger once more.

Not beaten far in Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last August, but balance of her form suggests she's flattered by that Group 3 effort. Just a respectable sixth behind Muchly on Ascot return, and held on that evidence.

Well below form on first two starts this season, but snapped back to form when 1½L second of 9 to Plumette at Chepstow last time. Fair chance if she can run to the same level again.

Best effort last season when third in a 7f novice at Salisbury, and better than she could show on return when stumbling at the start at Chepstow. Respected if she can show her true colours here.

Improved when making a winning handicap debut over 7f at Wolverhampton in April, but disappointed at Nottingham last time, although may not have stayed 1m½f there. Drops back in trip, and will be competitive if bouncing back.

€300,000 daughter of Kingman who showed definite signs of ability in three qualifying runs last year. Type to improve markedly as a 3-y-o, and can make a winning handicap bow for yard in terrific form.

Forecasts

Mulan (3/1), Ajrar (10/3), Isango (7/2), Cotubanama (5/1), Knightshayes (6/1), No Way Jose (8/1)

Verdict

MULAN is a daughter of Kingman who has the scope to improve markedly on what she showed in a few educational runs last year, and she is taken to get off the mark on her handicap debut against more exposed fillies. Cotubanama was back to form last time, and should get involved again, while it might be worth forgiving below-par runs from Isango and Knightshayes.
