Good effort at Nottingham (5f, good to firm) in early April on first run since being gelded and leaving Sir Michael Stoute's stable. Not as good as back there since (softer going) and needs cheekpieces to have an effect here.
Got up in dying strides to win Class 6 event Bath (5½f, firm; 12-1) on recent handicap bow, having shaped nicely previously. Tougher ask from 4lb higher but retains potential for better.
Warm order on seasonal/stable debut at Lingfield (6f, AW) last month, but could only close finish fourth. No mistake since at (Bath (5½f, firm; 5-2f) when scoring by a length (front pair clear). Has 6lb penalty to contend with but considered.
Both career wins on the AW. Went close at Nottingham (5f, good to firm; 10-1) in April, though since managed only fifth of six back over that C&D when sent off favourite.
Exceed and Excel gelding, took advantage of declining mark to open account (12th start) at Wolverhampton (5f, AW) recently. 5lb higher back on turf facing some in-form rivals but has to enter the argument.
Surprisingly given her pedigree she appears best at sprint trips, as confirmed with breakthrough win over 5f on the AW at Wolverhampton in April. Just touched off there under a penalty since, has 2lb extra to carry back on turf. Improving.
Winner over 6f on quick ground at Bath in September last, filly struggled in two further outings last term, but bounced back when close second on reappearance at Brighton (5½f, good to firm; 5-1) in taking second spot this month. Same mark now.
Twice a winner last year over 5f handicaps on heavy/good ground. Now back on previous win-mark, has made the frame (third) in 2-3 starts this term in Windsor over minimum trip.
13-race maiden, showing only fleeting glimpses of ability. Behind All Back To Mine at Brighton (5½f, good to firm) this month and seemingly unlikely to turn placings around despite being 3lb better off now.
Six-raced maiden, routinely going off at three-figure prices and yet to finish with hailing distance of a winner. Drops to 5f and huge leap of faith required to see a change in fortune.
Forecasts
Devils Roc (5/2), Valentino Sunrise (5/1), Khafooq (11/2), All Back To Mine (6/1), Superseded (8/1), Miss Enigma (17/2), Show Me The Bubbly (9/1), Hanakotoba (12/1), Starchant (33/1), Dark Impulse (100/1)
A clash of some in-form sprinters. Devils Roc and Show Me The Bubbly are favoured over the third last-time-out winner in the mix Superseded but perhaps there's still more to come MISS ENIGMA. Richard Hughes' filly isn't typically bred for sprinting but her form has gone up a notch since tackling Wolverhampton handicaps over 5f, with a win and a second under a penalty. She's got potential to make further strides on turf and has 3lb taken off here by experienced claimer Finley Marsh. All Back To Mine completes a shortlist of plausible contenders in a very open finale and the betting will be an essential guide.
- Miss Enigma
- Devils Roc
- All Back To Mine
