Well below-par on return when trailing in last of 13 runners at Windsor (6f; good). However, this dual C&D winner is now 7lb below his last winning mark and could bounce back in a race which wouldn't take much of a revival to win.

Had been in the doldrums prior to springing a 33-1 surprise here last Wednesday (5f; firm). Reopposes with Amberine who finished third that day, but may struggle to confirm those placings given that rival given she lacked race fitness.

Unexposed filly who ran her best race to date when tackling this distance for the first time when third behind a red-hot favourite at Lingfield last time(5f; standard). Firmly enters calculations if able to build upon that more encouraging effort.

Won at this venue as a two-year-old but has changed yards since. Last five runs have all been extremely disappointing and was a well beaten eight behind Jaganory and Amberine last week. Tough task.

Relatively unexposed for an eight-year-old and had been desperately out of form prior to surging home late on at Brighton (5f; good to firm) on Tuesday. That was his first try at the trip, and he has every chance of following up.

Another runner in this race who has decent C&D form to her name. Respectable enough effort on seasonal return to action when third behind Jaganory here last week(5f; firm). Strong possibility she can reverse the form with that rival today.

10-year-old who is having his 103rd career start. One of two runners for Milton Bradley. Not raced over 5f since finishing down the field over C&D in September and is likely to struggle on return from a three-month break.

Harbour Watch-filly who has never threatened to get involved in six career starts. Yet another in this field who can be easily ruled out.

Profile is completely off-putting. Started out over 6f as a two-year-old, then dropped down to 5f last season before recently moving back up to 7f. Hasn't achieved anything in those runs and can only be watched again today.

Won on debut for John Ryan as a two-year-old, but has since achieved next to nothing in 19 runs since. Would hold place claims if able to rediscover the form of his Lingfield third (5f; standard) at the turn of the year.

Winless since scoring over C&D in July 2017. Badly out of form of late and a major revival is required if he is to play any sort of role in this race.

Verdict

A very tricky contest in which most of these can be ruled out with confidence. A chance is taken that AMBERINE can progress from an encouraging run here last week when she was making her seasonal reappearance. She has shown she goes well at this track in the past and is still lightly raced for a five-year-old. After coming from out the clouds to gain his first career success when dropping down to 5f for the first time, Pocket Warrior may have more to offer and looks next best. There is still time for Brogan's Bay to make her presence felt at this level, as she displayed mild promise when making her 5f debut at Lingfield behind an odds-on favourite.
  1. Amberine
  2. Pocket Warrior
  3. Brogans Bay
