Too green to show anything on her debut on the AW (Kempton, 1m) she left that form far behind when winning next time at Wolverhampton over an extended 1m. Clearly knew more (beat a previous winner); now on turf under a penalty, merits respect.

Modest form so far in two AW starts over trips further than the one he tries today; looks to be being brought along gradually. Far from ideally placed last time; needs this run for a mark, open to progress but handicaps await.

Started his career in good style when the only one to make a race of it with the experienced odds-on favourite at Newbury over 7f last August. Not seen since and gelded returns to action off break up in trip; leading player in a winnable contest.

Two quick runs this year have seen him start at triple-figure odds on both occasions doing no better on his second run than he did on debut. Withdrawn after proving unruly at the start at Chepstow last week; quickly passed over.

Turned in some decent placed performances in his career but has on occasions looked less than straightforward (didn't convince with his attitude last time). First-time tongue-tie worn last time absent today; contender but with quirks.

Hard to construct a sound case for this one who has finished in the rear of two AW 7f minor races; started 100-1 each time. Likely to start those sorts of odds again; will be looking towards low-grade handicaps for the future.

From a useful family (half-sister to several winners) she didn't show as much as her pedigree promised on debut at Newbury (7f, soft) in April. Up in trip here she can be expected to progress a little but may need more time and experience yet.

Forecasts

Dudley's Boy (1/1), Voltaic (6/4), Liliofthelamplight (6/1), Clap Your Hands (20/1), Zappiness (33/1), Je M'en Fous (66/1), I'm Brian (100/1)

Verdict

The 7lb penalty that Liliofthelamplight carries will make life more difficult for her but she did beat a previous winner last time at Wolverhampton and despite that penalty further progress is on the cards on her turf debut with a positive ride on the cards from Joe Fanning. DUDLEY'S BOY comes from a stable that have started the season well and his only run so far made him look like a smart performer. Gelded since then that run looks very good in the context of this race and the subsequent exploits of the winner. Voltaic has to come into the equation but he’s had plenty of chances so far and didn’t look particularly straightforward last time with some quirks on display.
  1. Dudley's Boy
  2. Liliofthelamplight
  3. Voltaic
