Gained an overdue second career win from 34 starts when winning at Nottingham on just his fourth start for his new yard. 4lb rise shouldn't be an issue but would prefer a soft surface.

Dropped in grade following a poor reappearance over this C&D and while he's on a competitive mark, his best form has come with give in the ground and the stable are quiet at present.

Scored on his fourth start for this trainer over this trip at Catterick in October and now just 1lb higher. Suited by these conditions and should be fitter for return over 7f here. Rates a leading contender.

Last win came off 1lb lower over 7f but equally suited by this trip and the conditions. Disappointing in two starts this year and now gets a welcome drop in grade. Continues to prove hard to predict.

Lightly-raced and posted a career-best when winning over this C&D recently, despite not getting the clearest of runs. Quicker ground isn't an issue and neither should a 5lb rise. Likely to go close again.

Narrow winner of a 5f Musselburgh novice on her second juvenile start for David O'Meara in August 2017. Not disgraced on both AW runs in October for John Balding and worth a try at this trip on stable and season debut. Could be involved.

Returned from a 79-day absence with a poor effort at Nottingham following a breakthrough win in a novice contest at Wolverhampton in February. Meets quick ground for the first time and more needed.

All seven wins have come at this trip but has returned totally out of form this year with three very poor runs. Given a chance by the handicapper and a first-time visor added but hard to have faith in.

Dual winner over this distance and suited by the quick conditions on this return from the AW. However held off higher marks the last twice and a 1lb drop in the weights may not be enough.

Eight-race maiden saw his form go backwards for Richard Hannon last year. Sold for just 1,000 gns last July and best watched for new stable. Gelded and has had wind surgery ahead of reappearance.

Well backed favourite on stable debut when disappointing at Nottingham but previously consistent on the AW. Has fallen to a very attractive turf mark so could easily bounce back in a weak race.

Forecasts

Ginger Jam (7/4), Tricky Dicky (7/2), Sfumato (6/1), Liamba (6/1), Poet's Pride (8/1), Rasheeq (8/1), Debawtry (16/1), Etikaal (16/1), Shortbackandsides (25/1), Sherzy Boy (25/1), Royal Connoisseur (25/1), At Your Service (25/1)

Verdict

It will be interesting to see if the market support comes once again for Tricky Dicky as he remains potentially well handicapped on turf compared to his much higher AW rating. Sfumato should be sharper for his return at this track and conditions look ideal but preference is for GINGER JAM who has more upside than most of these and his latest win suggested he could still be ahead of the handicapper.
