Hamilton novice winner (1m4f, soft) in September 2018; still early days in handicap company (0-2).
Hasn't won on the Flat since May 2015 (Chester), but was beaten just under 4L by the thriving Grey Mist at Ripon (2m, good to soft) eight days ago; eased 1lb since.
Awarded the race by the stewards when beaten a short-head at Newbury in October (1m4f, good to soft); 3lb higher, but has kept excellent form over hurdles more latterly; holds a solid chance.
Runner up to Persian Sun in a 1m4f novice at Newcastle in December (on stable debut); similar form in a Lingfield handicap since; stablemate of War Brigade; making his first start for four months.
Comfortably held (11th of 13) on return to turf at Goodwood (1m6f, good) a fortnight ago; low mileage on grass (0-5); eased another 4lb in the weights.
3lb higher than when scoring over C&D (good to firm) last summer - could have more too offer; interesting to see how he figures in the market off a seven month absence.
Feasibly handicapped, competes from a mark which is 5lb lower than when finishing a neck second to Good Time Ahead at Chepstow (1m5f) in July 2018; blinkers appeared to have a positive effect latest.
Regularly knocking at the door over this trip from a similar mark last backend (mainly at Catterick); first start for 221-days.
Eased last of ten on return from a 26-month absence at Newcastle (1m4f) last month; can only be monitored for signs of improvement; look elsewhere; stablemate of Enemy Of The State.
Has competed only on the AW to date (2-9); 4lb higher than when beating Loose Chippings by 1¼L at Southwell 16-days ago; useful apprentice booked.
In reasonable form with cut in the ground last summer (1m1f-1m4f); 2lb lower than when beaten ½L by Nuits St Georges at Haydock; showed up prominently for a long way before weakening at Thirsk latest; tongue-tie now applied.
14-race maiden who competes from out of the handicap; 0-2 for this trainer (formerly with Linda Perratt); stablemate of Aislabie.

Forecasts
War Brigade (7/2), Roar (4/1), Cold Harbour (9/2), Motahassen (7/1), Just Wait (8/1), Contrebasse (8/1), Ezanak (8/1), Albert Boy (10/1), Searching (10/1), Jawshan (12/1), Omotesando (20/1), Enemy Of The State (25/1), Aislabie (33/1), Paddy's Rock (50/1), Gabriel's Oboe (66/1)
Strong numerically, but arguably less so in terms of likely winners. Roar is yet to win beyond 1m2f, but should appreciate this ease in grade and is expected to be on the premises, while recent Southwell winner Cold Harbour is noteworthy on his turf debut in the hands of the very capable Seamus Cronin. However, the suggestion is the Ian Williams-trained WAR BRIGADE who returns to the level following a largely productive winter over hurdles.
- War Brigade
- Roar
