Won twice in novice company during 2018 on the AW, well held on seasonal bow at Ripon (1m, good; 4-1cf) off this mark; should be fitter this afternoon for a race with less quality on paper. Up in trip.

Well related filly by Sea The Stars clearly improved plenty on her debut fourth at Newmarket when winning impressively at Wolverhampton in November. Looked in need of the run this month at Ascot (1m, good to firm; 6-1) on return to action.

Ran well all three starts last term, getting off the mark at third time of asking in modest Chelmsford novice stakes on the AW in April over 1m2f (sent off 1-4f). Has handled turf already and should be in the mix here for in-form handler.

Showed a good attitude when scoring on debut at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) in August. Similar effort when placed under a penalty at Haydock before disappointing final run at Leicester. Goes handicapping on return, ground will suit, noted.

Course winner over 7f in September, more exposed than a few of these and beaten close to 6L over same trip here on seasonal bow recently. More required upped to this longer trip.

Showed promise in two runs last year and duly obliged upped to 1m2f on seasonal bow to land Lingfield maiden (7-1) 13 days ago. Opening handicap mark affords her a chance to build on that now.

Forecasts

Frisella (2/1), Bella Vita (11/4), Baba Ghanouj (4/1), Quintada (6/1), Ideological (9/1), Sufficient (12/1)

Verdict

Frisella was perfectly entitled to get off the mark at Chelmsford last time out and is respected, but this looks set to be a more stubborn examination of her credentials and Lingfield maiden winner BELLA VITA might be the answer receiving weight from her five rivals. She did things nicely and doesn't appear over-burdened from this opening handicap mark. Quintada and Ideological are capable of getting into the scrap for honours.
  1. Bella Vita
  2. Frisella
  3. Quintada
