January Newcastle AW bumper winner; 25/1 when finishing runner up in a small-field 1m Southwell novice 12-days ago.
By Shirocco out of a mare who won nine races (Hula Ballew). Always behind when finishing sixth of nine on debut at Newcastle (7f) in June 2018; off since; stablemate of Martha Mcewan.
Frankel colt; just held by the winner Le Don De Vie on turf debut at Epsom (1m½f, good) three-weeks ago; strong contender on that basis alone; trainer 10-57 (18%) at Beverley.
Kodiac gelding; second foal; brother to the 5f juvenile scorer Listen Alexander; dam was a 7f winning juvenile.
Slowly away and never in the hunt at any stage on debut at Carlisle (6f, good) in June 2018; off since.
Cost £85,000 as a yearling; has shown a respectable level of form; keeping on well towards the finish when beaten just under 5L (fourth) by Jalaad in a 7f Doncaster maiden 17-days ago; form franked since by Destination.
Has yet to beat a single rival on the racecourse (0-2); up marginally in trip for turf debut.
Twice placed on the AW, including when producing a career best on her penultimate start at Wolverhampton; 7f would appear to be her optimum trip; outside place claims on first start on turf.
Dark Angel filly from a 1m winning dam (Iffraaj Pink); almost certain to be considerably wiser for the benefit of her debut run at Kempton (7f) in November 2018.
Took a very small step forward from her Southwell debut (6f) when finishing eighth of 11 to Irreverent at Wetherby (7f), 100/1 just over a fortnight ago; stablemate of Ateescomponent.
Kingman filly; half-sister to four winners including Tales Of Grimm (6f-1m1f, inc Australian Listed); 25/1 when finishing a keeping on (not knocked about) fifth of ten to Search For Light at Haydock (1m, soft) 17-days ago; open to progression.
Lethal Force filly out of a 1m-1m2f winning dam (Cosseted); 14/1 on debut when finishing a never nearer 12½L third to Rainbow Heart at Newmarket (7f, good) in October 2018.
Forecasts
Casanova (4/5), Jabalaly (9/2), Astrologer (5/1), Pamper (9/1), Moll Davis (12/1), Grab And Run (16/1), Lyrical Ballad (33/1), Basildon (33/1), Hard Knock Life (50/1), Martha Mcewan (100/1), Ateescomponent (100/1), Alisia R (100/1)
John Gosden sends just the sole representative to Beverley this afternoon, with Rab Havlin in the plate aboard the Frankel colt CASANOVA who rates as a strong contender off the back of a most promising turf debut at Epsom three-weeks ago. He has most to fear from the Ed Dunlop-trained Jabalaly who shaped like a future winner in a 7f Doncaster maiden recently (form which has been franked since by Destination). Of the remainder Lyrical Ballad and Moll Davis appear likeliest for the more minor honours.
- Casanova
- Jabalaly
- Moll Davis
