Has run respectably after a break in the past so seven-month absence not a complete negative. Won at Newton Abbot last June off 7lb lower mark and has a fairly progressive profile.
Scored at Southwell last August but pulled up on his first start back off 10lb higher mark at Wincanton last month. Eased 2lb but may still be in the handicapper's grip.
Won three handicap chases during first half of last year going up 24lb for his troubles. Not disgraced in three of four starts since but still looks to have mroe than his fair share of weight.
Has done most of his winning at around 3m so question to answer over this drop back in trip. Outclassed when pulled up at Cheltenham in October and not seen since. Eased 2lb but may find them going a stride too quick for him on first start back.
Ex-Irish gelding whose sole rival fell at the first at Kempton last time leaving him to school round to score. Should lack nothing for fitness but hard to assess on British evidence to date having pulled up time before.
Returned from nine-month break to score at Market Rasen in March then stayed on to be fourth off this mark at Exeter last month. Top jockey on board and no surprise to see him in the shake-up.
Fair novice hurdler but hasn't run to that kind of level over fences in handicaps thus far. Has fallen a long way in weights though and showed signs of a revival at Stratford last time. Eased 1lb and top team always respected.
Won 1-15 in Ireland for Noel Meade and appears to have not really taken to chasing for current connections since crossing the Irish Sea. Dropped 4lb since latest poor effort and is hard to get excited about.
Forecasts
Blairs Cove (6/5), Nikki Steel (5/1), Tikkinthebox (13/2), Not A Role Model (7/1), Royal Supremo (15/2), Lord In Red (14/1), Statistical (14/1), Dotties Dilema (33/1)
BLAIRS COVE gets a marginal vote in a tight-knit affair. He looked on the way back last time and off 1lb lower should be thereabouts. Any market support for Not A Role Model would be of interest as he has gone well fresh in the past, and Nikki Steel comes into the reckoning after two solid recent runs. Statistical is hard to fathom, while Tikkinthebox hails from a stable in form but has plenty of weight.
