Heavy ground winner at Carlisle last year, although quirky, and hard to catch right, leaving Karl Burke for 20,000 after his final start. New yard does well with similar types, but others preferred unless the market speaks for him.
Won over 1m at Ripon last year, and has run with credit there and at Naas (Irish Lincoln) on both runs this term. Still on a fair mark, and no surprise to see him involved at the finish.
Won at Kempton in February, but a tad disappointing in the Spring Mile at Doncaster, and again below form when 5½L eighth of 12 to Petrus at Bath last time. Down in class, but may simply be best on Polytrack.
Won off a 3lb higher mark at Windsor in 2017 for Amy Murphy, but lightly raced and below form since, leaving David Simcock prior to a poor effort at Wolverhampton last time. Questions to answer.
Inconsistent in 2018, but still won three times on fast turf, and excuses for latest run in the mud. All his wins have come after a recent run, however, and he's entitled to need this after an absence.
Won over C&D in August, and beaten a nose off this mark here on his next start. Ended 2018 with a few lesser runs, but he's back on a fair mark and is respected, for all he badly needed his reappearance last season.
Most of his racing has come at Kempton, but placed twice on good or softer turf for David Elsworth, and seems just as effective on this surface. Jockey booking catches the eye, although yard is unusally quiet at present (1-32 in last month).
Won on his return to turf at Pontefract last month, and finished best of all when a close second at Musselburgh last time. Up another 2lb for that, but this course winner should give another good account.
Well treated on form which saw him placed several times last year, but it's now almost three years since his last win, and while he has solid place claims, he's not one for maximum faith.

Crownthorpe (9/4), Enzemble (7/2), Rampant Lion (4/1), Storm Ahead (6/1), Mont Kinabalu (15/2), Moxy Mares (16/1), Club Wexford (20/1), Poet's Dawn (20/1), London Protocol (20/1), Ghalib (25/1)
Not that many arrive here fit and on form, but that is certainly the case with CROWNTHORPE who has run with credit on both starts this season, and has been given a chance by the handicapper. He can get the better of Mont Kinabalu, who is also running well, and Poet's Dawn, who needed his return last year, but has quickly dropped back to a workable mark, and could have more to offer this season.
- Crownthorpe
- Mont Kinabalu
- Poet's Dawn
