Runner-up on her first outing as a juvenile but missed a large portion of the season after that before finishing well held at York in October. Fared a little better at Newcastle on her return (AW debut) but needs to step up again.
Placed at York and Thirsk last season, but didn't really go on, and was disappointing on his nursery debut at Ayr in September. Can start slowly, and wouldn't want to give a head-start to these rivals.
Inconsistent as a juvenile, but did win a 5f novice at Thirsk. Every chance on that form, but he's been well held in two runs this season, and blinkers tried now.
Improved on debut when a good second at Newcastle (6f) in July, and well backed making nursery debut at Carlisle in September only to weaken tamely. Clearly considered capable of better, and well drawn here.
Consistent rather than progressive in four runs as a juvenile, but bred to do better as a 3-y-o, and probably needed the run after being gelded when fifth at Wolverhampton on his return. Should improve on that, and considered.
Gelded prior to his return, and ran well when ½L second over 5f at Newcastle in January. Below that form there later in the month, but possible he'll do better having had a break since.
In the frame three times at this trip as a 2-y-o, and may have needed the run when 4L fifth of 10 to Arishka in a handicap at Nottingham last month. Hooded now, and needs to find some improvement.
Didn't progress after showing promise for Willie McCreery last season, and weakened tamely despite starting favourite for his new yard at Thirsk (6f) late last month having been gelded. Drop in trip may help, but something to prove after that.
Improved to win a modest 6f nursery at Catterick in the autumn. Excuses next time, and travelled well until fitness told on his return at Doncaster. Should be primed now, and capable of a bold show from the front.
Won on debut over C&D last May, and while she went into handicaps off a stiff mark, it's disappointing that she's made no impact since eased in the weights, and blinkers seemed no help at Doncaster last time.
Won a nursery over 5f at Newcastle in October. Below form on first two starts there this year, but much more like it when a keeping-on third of 10 to Arishka at Nottingham last time. Entitled to go well with a repeat.
Well held in all three starts so far. Since had wind surgery, but needs an awful lot of improvement for that to figure.
Forecasts
Friendly Advice (4/1), Timetodock (5/1), Baldwin (6/1), Swiss Connection (6/1), Montalvan (15/2), Amazing Alba (9/1), Skeetah (10/1), One One Seven (10/1), Pearl Of Qatar (12/1), Kyllachy Warrior (20/1), Raypeteafterme (22/1), Sambucca Spirit (50/1)
TIMETODOCK is a proven winner, and he caught the eye on his return over 6f at Doncaster, looking as if the run would put him straight. He has the speed to make all from a mid-field draw. Swiss Connection disappointed on her only nursery start, but was well backed and should do better, so is shortlisted, as is Baldwin, for all he can't afford to start slowly as has been the case. One One Seven and Friendly Advice are others to consider in an open contest.
- Timetodock
- Swiss Connection
- Baldwin
